Founded in 1920, Disabled American Veterans is a non-profit charity focused to building better lives for the United States disabled veterans and its families. Annually, the organization represents more than 200,000 veterans and its dependents with claims for benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense. Located in Birmingham, Ala., Disabled American Veterans 1.2 million members provide grassroots advocacy and services in communities nationwide. It has a network of over 88 national service offices, nearly 38 transition service offices and approximately 198 hospital service coordinator offices, among others.
