Dr. Kim grew up in Vancouver, Canada, where he attended University of British Columbia and received his bachelor’s degree in Microbiology & Immunology. Dr. Kim received his dental degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he was awarded with the Matthew Cryer Honors, given to the top 10 students, as well as a membership to the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. Subsequently, Dr. Kim continued on to a 6 year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at University of Connecticut Health Center. During his residency, he also completed a two year surgical training in general surgery, as well as his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where he was also awarded for his academic achievements. In his last year of residency, Dr. Kim served as chief resident of the department. Dr. Kim’s surgical interests include dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, bone grafts, facial trauma, and orthographic surgery, and he advocates implementing the latest technology in the field. He participates within the dental community as an active member of both national and regional societies. On a personal level, Dr. Kim is a caring, compassionate, sincere individual with a professional and courteous chairside manner. Born in South Korea, Dr. Kim is fluent in both English and Korean. In his personal time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, sampling new cuisines, and photography.
