History Steve and Sue Hosterman started Rockhill Electric in April 1984. The name was chosen after Steve's Dad's business Rockhill Realty. Steve had worked the previous ten years for another electrical contractor and studied in his spare time so he could get his Master Electrical License. After Sue finished her nursing school they decided she would work full time in nursing and part time Rockhill Electric so they could get the business started. It was started in their home on 109th Street, in Kansas City, MO. By 1985 the business was too big to have in the house. They rented a small section of a building in Lee's Summit, Missouri just off Hwy. 291. In 1986 they purchased the building at 213 Blue Ridge Extension in Grandview, MO and decided to incorporate the business. Rockhill Electric became Rockhill Electric, Inc Steve Hosterman became the President and Sue Hosterman the Secretary/Treasurer. In 2004 they had out grown their building in Grandview and purchased a building in Belton, Missouri at 1422 Larkspur Circle. Where they are currently located. As the business grew they expanded their business to include many other options besides the basic electrical wiring. They began selling, installing and servicing emergency home stand-by generators.. Stephan Jr. started a division of Rockhill Electric, Inc, which is called Rock Tech. Stephan is the COO and has his Masters Electrician license as well as certifications for the products they sell and install. This division consists of home theatre and home automation which includes the sale and installation of name brand lighting controls, televisions, surround sound, security cameras, alarm systems, phone systems and networking for residential or business. Rockhill Electric, Inc is a family owned and operated business. Our electricians are well trained in the electrical field as well as in our specialty fields.
