- Family PracticeSarah Royer FNP-BC has resided in the Mid-Ohio Valley for 15 years. She completed her associate’s degree in nursing at Washington State Community College and after taking time from school to start a family, Sarah completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at Wheeling Jesuit University, graduating with her Masters in Nursing. Sarah is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with 11 years of nursing experience in ortho-neuro post-surgical care and family practice. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, WV Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honors Society. Sarah has also taken her nursing talents overseas, participating in medical mission trips to Haiti and Honduras.
- Emergency CareGeorge Tokodi, D.O. has lived in the Marietta and Parkersburg area since August 1987 after graduating from his residency. This is the only area where he has ever practiced orthopedics. Prior to his orthopaedic practice, he had two years in the public health service in a general medical office as a family medical doctor. During his residency, he visited Selby General Hospital and moonlighted in the emergency room on holidays and occasional weekends.

- Reconstructive SurgeryA Marietta native; he graduated from Warren High School followed by Marietta College and ultimately went on to study medicine at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. He completed his residency in Detroit, Michigan at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center, where he was honored to serve as Chief Resident in his final year of training. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in primary and complex revision hip and knee reconstructive surgery at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.
- Sports MedicineMark C. Plumby, M.D. is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, and elbow. He performs knee and shoulder arthroplasty and has a special interest in cartilage restoration procedures.
- Physical TherapyOur team at First Settlement Orthopaedics will work with you to treat your bone loss and help to prevent further advance of the disease. We coordinate with imaging, infusion centers, and physical therapy to deliver the care you need. We develop a personalized plan to preserve bone density and if possible help to restore what has been lost. This may include medication, bone density monitoring, laboratory monitoring, and physical therapy to strengthen bones and improve stability.
