It saddens us to leave a poor review, but it is well-deserved. We were long-time customers of Charlie's Taxi and referred numerous friends and family members over the past couple of years. But after how Charlie's Taxi treated us yesterday, we will NEVER use his service again.
First, he sent a van with NO WORKING AIR CONDITIONING to pick up 5 people in the sweltering 100-degree heat. We were sweaty. hot messes when we arrived at our destination.
On the return trip, Charlie's Taxi drove from Belmar to Point Pleasant to pick us up -- but abruptly left without us after he overheard our friend, whom we ran into by chance at the curbside, blasting Charlie's Taxi because the company stranded HER group of 4 ladies at the Headliner last Saturday night. Sadly, this friend was one of our referrals to Charlie's Taxi -- and needless to say, we were quite embarrassed to have made the referral.
It is unconscionable that a taxi-service owner could abandon a group of 7 regular customers in the summer heat with no concern for our safety or well-being.
The cab driver tried to call, and apparently kept getting my voicemail. I did have my phone with me, but from time to time service can get spotty. They didn't leave a message, and when i called back the driver was extremely rude. I would not recommend using this service.
This company provides the best service I've ever used. The prices are the cheapest I've had. The cabs are very clean. The drivers are very friendly. I wouldn't use any other cab when in Belmar. They'll take you pretty much any where you want to go. Like I said the prices are great. Some cabs will over charge you and rip you off but not them. I use them every weekend because of their great service and wouldn't even think of using any one else.
Always clean, reliable and fairly priced. I wouldn't call anyone else.
