Examination - When an Ophthalmologist or Optometrist examines your eyes, he or she is doing more than checking to see if you need glasses. During a complete eye exam your doctor will not only determine if you need glasses or contacts but will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, make sure your eyes are working together and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health. Examinations are provided by a combination of the doctor and paraoptometric assistants. We use the latest in computer and laser instruments to ensure the best results. The examination will vary from patient to patient depending on the health of the individual and their visual needs. Typically, it may include - - Medical History - Measurement of visual activity - Pupil dilation - Intraocular pressure - Digital Retinal Photography - Visual field test - Diagnosis prescription Optical Dispensary - Fairhaven Vision's highly qualified optical staff provides personalized service for all your optical needs. With over 400 frames on display we carry a wide range of frames and lenses in a variety of styles to meet your vision needs and materials in all price ranges. This includes safety, sports, and occupational eyewear. Our prices are very competitive and we have a value program for those who are on a limited budget. Our optical staff is also able to repair, adjust, and fit your glasses to your face for extended comfort and vision. Contact lenses - We prescribe and evaluate all major brands of soft and rigid contact lenses. Additionally, we prescribe custom designed contact lenses for special needs as well as special eye problems. Specialized fitting may include: Monovision, bifocal contact lenses, astigmatism contacts, Ortho K and Keratoconus. We have experience in modifying and polishing contacts.
