Great food, great service & at a price I can finally afford

On the far left side of the recently renovated shopping plaza in Bellingham Center, R J's Place, a family run diner has just opened. Housed in the space of the former Hot Dog shack, the menu here is seafood, dinners and sandwiches. From my seat at the counter I ordered the Fisherman's Platter and was quite surprised by the thin and crispy batter. A large piece of haddock, about a half dozen nice plump shrimp and small whole sea scallops along with probably 10 or 12 medium sized whole belly clams. Also on the plate were more fries than I could eat, several beer battered and thick cut onion rings along with a wonderfully tasting coleslaw, a lemon wedge and tarter sauce. The "market price" of $22. is about the average price for this plate compared to other restaurants.
