Center "Da Vinci" was originally created to promote and preserve the Russian language, culture and traditions of Russia. Children from Russian-speaking families living in the United States are immersed in the English language environment. They quickly adopt the traditions and norms of the environment and forget their native culture and tongue. Our goal is not simply to teach children to read and write, but to create a well-rounded environment for them to incorporate Russian into every aspect of their education. Our programs and techniques stimulate a child's desire to learn. Development of their creative abilities is also strongly encouraged. We have created a multi-faceted curriculum which includes: language, music, literature, painting, sculpture, history and theater. Programs and lesson plans are tailored for each individual child. We focus on the foundational grammar of the Russian language and introduce traditional culture. We apply these original programs, techniques and tutorials based on our years of experience working with Russian speaking children living in the United States. Our students work with the following materials: · “Bookvar”. This textbook was created specifically for children living outside of Russia. In addition to introducing basic reading skills, it contains practical tasks to stimulate and strengthen children’s speech and grammar. · "I Write Competently". This supplemental textbook focuses on the basics of grammar. · CD’s with songs or musical activities and vivid flashcards for children 2.5-3 years old. Theater Studio "Balaganchik" unveils the creative talents in children; liberating and enriching their vocabulary. Participating in creative projects encourages children to build self-confidence and activates their hidden creativity. Children not only learn how to work in teams, but become confident individuals as well.
