(CCCS) is a local nonprofit organization that has been providing money management solutions since 1965.  CCCS' nationally certified counselors are experts in budget, credit, debt and housing counseling.  The organization's purpose is to increase financial knowledge, help families solve current financial problems and achieve future goals.  CCCS' mission is provide the best non-profit community service, dedicated to delivering professional and confidential counseling, debt management, housing counseling and consumer credit education to all segments of the community regardless of ability to pay. Â

Budget and Credit Services People can run into financial difficulties for a variety of reasons. A lack of planning or little understanding of one’s options can quickly lead to financial challenges. CCCS offers one-on-one in-person or phone counseling to help you regain a sense of financial well-being. · Budget and Credit Counseling: Nationally certified counselors provide you with professional advice on money management, building a household budget, maintenance of your credit report, how to use credit wisely, and the importance of developing a savings plan. · Bankruptcy Counseling: A service that provides you with the options, alternatives and consequences of bankruptcy. U.S. Court approved to issue a certificate in compliance with the bankruptcy code. Online services are available. Fees may apply. · Debt Management Plan (DMP): A debt repayment option that provides you with a consolidated way to pay your creditors and become debt free within 60 months. Benefits can include lower monthly payments, reduced interest rates, and waived fees. A DMP can be an alternative to bankruptcy. Fees may apply.  Housing Counseling HUD-approved housing counseling services include: · Pre-purchase Homeownership Counseling: A free service that assists you in developing a personalized plan that explores the options and resources to purchase a home. · Post-purchase Homeownership Counseling: A free service to ensure successful homeownership through effective budgeting, equity preservation and safeguards to protect your investment. · Foreclosure Intervention Counseling: A free service to help homeowners who are past due with their mortgage determine the options available to avoid foreclosure. · Reverse Mortgage Counseling: A service for homeowners 62 years of age and older. Information is provided on the benefits, costs, and responsibilities of using this resource to access equity in the home.  Education and Outreach · Budgeting Workshops: Provides you with the skills and tools to set goals, evaluate income and expenses, build a budget, pay off debt and develop a savings plan. · Credit Workshops: Helps you understand the importance of credit. Learn how to shop for credit, understand terms and conditions, use credit wisely, access and improve credit reports, pay off debt and protect yourself against identity theft. · First Time Homebuyer Workshops: A free 8 hour workshop that helps you understand the important aspects of becoming a homeowner. Expert speakers include CCCS staff, lenders, realtors, attorneys, insurance agents and home inspectors. Certificates of completion are provided. · Pre-Discharge Bankruptcy Education: A 2 hour class that teaches you how to regain your financial health following a bankruptcy. Pre-discharge certificates are provided and classes are available in person or online. Fees may apply.
