- Founded by Woodrow Wilson, Acadia National Park has been operational for more than 90 years. Acadia National encompasses more than 35,000-acres of seacoast, rocks, islands, forest, lakes and mountains. One of the leading national parks, it has more than 100-miles of trails and hiking paths, carriage roads, a network of woodland roads, and cycling, horseback riding and carriage range. Located in Bar Harbor, Maine, Acadia offers a wide variety of services, such as cross-country, skiing, snowmobiling, camping, biking, boating and fishing. The park also offers junior ranger programs for children up to 8 years.
