We are constantly asked if the Froggy Dog is for sale. Yes it is. We are getting close to retirement and will sell when the right buyer comes along. Until that time we will be open for business as usual. We hope to see everyone in the spring. Fred and Denise and our crew are back for another season. We are excited to meet all of you that make the restaurant part of your summer vacation and those of you that live here on Hatteras Island. Froggy Dog Restaurant & Pub has been a Hatteras Island tradition for years and we aim to keep it that way! Our focus is on providing stellar customer service and a menu where everything is made freshfrom our amazing appetizers right on down to our salad dressings. So we invite you in to try it again for the first time! We are located in Avon ( historically named Kinnakeet ), North Carolina. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. You won't want to miss The Froggy Dog signature items Hot Pancakes at breakfast and our Captain's Burger at lunch. After you check out our Menu we are positive you will visit us again! And, don't forget to bring the whole familythe little ones can busy themselves in Tadpole Corner while the adults visit our gift shop, Ribbit's Gifts upstairs. While we keep the kids happy, you can enjoy your scrumptious dinner and vacation of relaxation!

The staff was absolutely wonderful. We called to let them know we had a large group coming in and they remembered us at the door. It was my sisters birthday and they provided 3 slices of cake and a free hat from their gift shop for her! This is an amazing place to stop in and eat at. The food is good. Fried shrimp is delicious but I would recommend staying away from the snow crab legs unless you go earlier in the season. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone staying in Avon!
My boyfriend and I were on vacation in Avon last week. We had breakfast at the Froggy Dog and it was the best meal we had all week! The food was delicious and our server, Paul, was exceptional. If I ever return to Avon, this will be my first stop!!
The food is good, and the wait staff does a good job. However, the owner needs to work on her customer service. She came into the dinner room raising her voice and yelling at the staff. Very unprofessional! Then when a customer approached her about it, she raised her voice to the customer. Would I come back? Never again!
The food was horrible. ...we wondered why the parking lot was empty.
This is the slowest service ever. waited over an hour for food
Mediocre is too kind. While the waitress was amiable and gave us just the right amount of attention, the food was awful. Everyone in our party who ordered steak got it way undercooked for what they ordered. The seafood was delivered warm at best and one was cold. We sent that one back and it was obviously thrown into the microwave before it came back to the table. Do not go to this restaurant - run away, run away!
not a good menu, no sandwiches for dinner....very expensive for what you get. Had to go eat after leaving this place....For all vacation folks, go to other places
