Stopped with two friends last Sunday. We were impressed with the variety of choices on the menu plus the specials. I had a patty melt which was quite good. My friends had the home-made macaroni and cheese and the corn chowder. They were pleased with their meals. The waitress was attentive and cheerful. We will definitely go back.

I stopped at Jake's for the first time last Saturday night. I was invited by a friend that frequents there for cocktails and their food. I can honestly say I was extremely pleased with both the service and the food. We sat at the bar for hor'dervs (I had NE chowder and mussels in garlic sauce. she had the beer cheese soup. ) The bartender was friendly and professional. I was curious as to the seafood special and prime rib since I had not been there before. When the owner and servers were bringing out meals I was checking them out. Very appetizing to say the least. I will definitely be back and I have recommended it to all of my friends. Nice cozy place to go to just chat for appetizers and such, or for a good meal. Thanks for a nice evening out!!!

Jakes on the lake should be a wonderful dinning experience, but it was not. My wife and I have wanted to try Jakes for a while and based on the beautiful exterior we had hopes of a friendly and delicious experience. When we walked in we where created by eye contact and nothing more. After the bartender ignored us, a server nearly ran over us without acknowledgement we started to think we made a mistake. Two patrons sitting at the bar acknowledged us and made comment to Jakes lack of service. To there statement the young lady behind the bar said, you can sit where you like.We figured that was an invitation to look over the layout and choose a seat. We walked to the far side of the bar to look for a table and was meet by a rude woman who physically blcoked our path and told us we would be seated. The walked away without notice of where we should go. At this point people started looking at us which caused us embarrassment.

I guess my expectations were a bit too high for this place. I was hoping for fresh, new ideas. Unfortunately, it is the 'same old, same old' stuff, nothing exciting, nothing all that good, just the same greasy, fried, bar food, the stuff that poor health and high choloesterol are made of...I won't be visiting Jakes on the Lake anytime in the future.

I live right down the street and have been there atleast 10 times. I can honestly say that it has got progressively worse everytime I am there. I really want to give it a chance, because of it's location to my house, but I cannot do it anymore. The servers are awful and the wait for food is ridiculous. My wife and I will not go back and will tell everybody we know of the horrible services and servers. When we vocalize our displeasure to management, they tell us that their kitchen is not big enough to accommodate the amount of people. Get a bigger kitchen. Honestly, we want to like it, but our experiences are that bad. 1 hour for chicken sandwiches and an hour and twenty minutes for Salmon. Go at your own risk!

Just what the doctor ordered. At my age and experienced dining from Atlantic to the Mississippi, I was pleased by the food and the service. No attempt at up sale, join our club, get our card, fill out this form, as I've seen in many others. Good food, good price, good service. Busy, but not packed, no children crying in the background. We had the the rib special and it was just that. A FULL 1/2 slab with a nice sauce, not to hot or over the top "Q" taste, old style french fries cooked in fresh oil and good slaw to top it off. I would and will recommend Jakes highly. Very pleased.

Would be a great restaurant if the food didnt taste like cardboard, didnt take 35 minutes to get to the table and when it finally gets there is ice cold. Food is priced well, but you do get what you pay for. Servers are unfriendly and unattentive. Good beer specials. Seems like a good place to go if you want to get drunk, but not if you want to enjoy a nice dinner.

Opened in January 09, Jake's on the Lake provides a moderately priced, family owned and operated alternative to the chain sports beer and burger joints. The atmosphere is wholesome and light, the wait staff is friendly and helpful, the food is abundant. The chefs take pride in their craft. To be recommended are the burgers and sandwiches... my favorite being the Reuben, the salads, and the specials. Sunday is a particularly fine time to dine at Jake's. Sunday brunch features great specials, fresh squeezed OJ, and smoothies on demand. No one should ever leave Jake's hungry or unhappy.
