For a casual dining place that you can take your kids and listen to some live music, and have a good time, I'll give it 5 stars. For our first date my husband wanted to take me somewhere off the beaten path, so we had dinner at Patsy's and have made it a tradition of sorts to revisit around the anniversary of our first date. My recommendation is their house special, Shiner Chicken, wrapped in bacon with a delectable sauce made with none other than the down home Texas favorite, Shiner Bock. Their entrees feature side dishes like seasonal vegetables, mashed potatoes and a southwestern style rice pilaf among other scrumtuous sides that are prepared in house, never overprocessed, never overcooked. For dessert, have a slice of their buttermilk pie! It's smooth, creamy, and not overbearingly sweet...a real southern delicacy. This is also a great place for folks from out of town to visit and bite into a little slice of Central Texas.
The service I received at Patsy's Cowgirl Cafe is by far the rudest I have ever endured. We went there for a company party and were literally verbally chastised by the waitress after she messed up 4 orders, accused us of being at fault, and took an hour to process our bill. The food was nothing to write home about either.
