General Info
Dr. Brett Smith was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He received his undergraduate degree from the Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. He graduated from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery in Miami with his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine. Subsequently, he completed his foot and ankle reconstructive and trauma surgical residency (36 months) at West Houston Medical Center under the direction of Samuel Mendicino, DPM. He received extensive training in all areas of foot and ankle surgery, including forefoot, rearfoot reconstruction, trauma, joint replacement, diabetic wound care and limb salvage. Dr. Smith is committed to treating patients while also educating patients on their condition. Dr. Smith believes the patient should have a thorough understanding of the diagnosis, treatment options, and treatment plan. He will work with patients to tailor a conservative treatment solution first and surgical intervention when warranted. Dr. Smith is a member of the America College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons, The American Podiatric Medical Association, American Association of Podiatric Sports Medicine and the Texas Podiatric Medical Association.
