- Dental ExaminationAt Atlanta General & Implant Dentistry we are glad to treat emergency patients. However, we encourage all our new patients to make an appointment for a comprehensive exam. Your first visit for a comprehensive exam will include examination of the teeth, gums, and surrounding bone and muscle. This is done by taking necessary radiographs, periodontal probing, and visual and tactile exams. We will also do an oral cancer exam.

- Gold RestorationsAlthough porcelain crowns and veneers can be beautiful and appear very lifelike, they are not the strongest restorations we can place on teeth. Dr. Pratt often suggests placing gold restorations on back teeth, or 'second molars,' when a crown is required, since they are not commonly seen when a patient smiles or laughs and yet they must withstand more biting force than any other teeth in the mouth. Dr. Pratt has often observed gold restorations that were fitted more than seventy years ago by the late Atlanta dentist Dr. Andrew Jordan, and these gold restorations look as new as the day they were placed. This cannot be said for any other restorative material in use today.
- VeneersThe best and least expensive way to brighten your smile is to do it at home, using a custom-made bleaching tray. Most patients' teeth can be lightened several shades using this technique. Some dental clinics claim that activating the bleach with a special light during an office visit is superior to bleaching at home, but several scientific studies have proven this claim to be false. When teeth are so discolored that bleaching will not deliver a satisfactory result, the patient may want to consider porcelain veneers.
- CrownsMark - Mark has worked as a dental lab technician since 1986, and joined Atlanta General & Implant Dentistry in 2005. Mark expertly fabricates all our crowns, porcelain laminates, and fixed and removable prosthetics. When not putting his artistic talents to use in our dental lab, he spends time in his art studio sculpting bronzes. He and his wife Vicki also raise miniature horses.

- Root Canal TreatmentWhen the nerve in a tooth gets irreversibly inflamed, or begins to die, a root canal may be required. A root canal is performed by removing the inflamed or dead nerve from the affected tooth and then filling the remaining space with a rubber material called 'gutta percha.' That's it! That's all a root canal is.
- Deep CleaningIf gingivitis is allowed to go unchecked, the underlying bone may eventually become inflamed. This condition is known as periodontitis. Inflammation at this level can cause the bone to dissolve away from the teeth, and in its advanced stages, so much bone may be lost that teeth can simply fall out while chewing. Periodontitis requires more aggressive treatment than gingivitis, such as scaling, root planning or even surgery, depending on the severity of the disease.
- DenturesOur lab also enables us to offer quick turnaround times on all denture repairs, including the replacement of missing denture teeth and relining of ill-fitting dentures and partials.
- Dental ImplantsAt Atlanta General & Implant Dentistry we offer a full range of periodontal treatments, both surgical and non-surgical, to address any problems our patients might have with their gums.
- Oral SurgeryThough Dr. Pratt is not a Board Certified Oral and Maxiofacial Surgeon, he has included oral surgery in his practice since its inception in 1981 and continually updates his store of knowledge by taking relevant continuing-education courses.
