Fantastic dinning experience with outstanding service, and exceptional Chinese food. Hosted our wedding reception, and attended to every detail without exception. The party was enjoyed and praised by all attending.
One person commented that they had attended many wedding receptions, some cosing hundreds of thousands of dollars that did not compare to this experience.
Time and time again, the place to go for great Chinese Food and Wonderful Service is here. Almost all of the selections on the menu are great...you can't go wrong even if you want to try something new. While some places maybe new and more fashionable, this restaurant has been here through it all.
The servers and staff are all very friendly and helpful. Don't be fooled by the low profile and unassuming exterior however. Inside, you'll find a great experience that has kept me coming back for years.
Pros: Low Wait Time, Great Food, Very Large Menu
That last review is BS, Grand China is the best chinese restaurant so far in Atlanta surprisingly, Atlanta really should have more ""real chinese"" restausrants to choose from and I have tried a few.
Compare to the best chinese in NY, Grand China is as good as you will get.
I would never eat there again because of this horrible experience as far as food goes, service was good. Food was horrible I spent over a 100.00's thinking from the reviews would get good recommendation well no!!! I will not ever eat downtown Atlanta again people only rave about the food because this is what there use to garbage!!! The hot and sour soup was more sour than sweet, egg drop soup bland! Entrees like peppered shrimp bland, the Thai curry salty, and the basil shrimp even more salty. Unbelievable how this place could servive! Don't let the pictures fool you on the web page, furniture setting very out dated smells like old furniture locked in storage forever. I would not recommend this place if your a person who likes food or has a taste bud. Never again SMH! I like to pay good money to eat.
Very best soups around, I love eating here.
Dim sum to die for.....and yummy soups.
Great food would recommend to my friends
After reading nothing but good reviews I decided to visit on My Journey to the NCAA South Regional's (go CATS). The food was excellent from the Hot and Soup, egg rolls and steamed dumplings everything was fantastic and fresh. Even the Tea was above expectations. The entry we ordered were the General Tao's chicken and The sweet and sour chicken. After talking to the proprietress she said the items were too similar and changed our order from sweet and sour chicken to some kind of Garlic shrimp and green beans. When the food arrived she was absolutely correct and the combination was excellent. The price was below what I expected and 1/2 as much as my other ATL meals. Do yourself a favor as this place is a must if you are in Buckhead and crave some Chinese or Thai. Besides that they are good people.
Finally tried Grand China for the first time after constantly hearing great things about it,and I was not disappointed. Great service and excellent food. The hot and sour soup was some of the best I have ever had, and the manager Mrs. Chang is super nice and helpful. Will definitely be making a return trip soon.
Best calamari I've ever had! Calamari and veggies were grilled to perfection and perfectly seasoned. Ginger and Garlic lobster entree was delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The best meal I've had in a long time! Definitely going to be visiting again.
great food great service!
ANYTIME i need to meet someone for dinner, for whatever reason...business, family in town, friends, etc. I take them to Grand China. There is such an extensive menu that even if you don't like asian food you will find something you like. They even have a gluten free menu. I would definitely recommend this place for cocktails and dinner for any occasion.
I have to disagree with the previous post. GC is my FAVORITE place for a quick bite, special celebration or an everyday meal. The staff there is warm and friendly and are actually glad to take care of you. the food is outstanding, the waiters even try to get you to try new things. My family and I always feel special, whether we have to wait an hour to get a table or are able to just walk in or make a reservation. Face it, the place wouldn't be so busy if the food sucked and the service lacked.
Ok, folks, let's be realistic here. Unless you're a visitor, otherwise your taste buds are in Atlanta just like me.
This is the best dim sum this city can offer and if you know another, don't be a ""shelf-fish"", post it. Or buy your plane tickets and go to Atlanta for the best chinese your plane tickets can buy.
i am a huge fun of Asian cuisine and Grand China is my favorite place. i went here the other weekend with my friends and we couldnt have had a more fabulous time!....it was incredible from the amazing courses to the to die for drinks.
I wanted to try the Grand China restaurant after reading so many reviews. We went there on a week day for dinner, it wasnt crowded but the host was discussing with some employee and didn't even notice we were there, so we went ahead and sit ourselves. A waiter came and gave us water. That was it. After waiting 30 minutes for the menu, we decided to leave as we were totally ignored. I wish I could say the food was good, but we didn't even get to try it!. So sad for the owner.
Chinese is my farvorite. I have eated in New York, San Fran. Nothing compares to Grand China that I have tried.
Not you basic Asian far by any means and more exspensive then any other, but it is excellent.
From soups to filets just some incredible tasting food
I've been here twice. I was so excited about the food. So rarely I taste anything quite as good.
The portions are perfect. I went through appetizers, dinner and desert and left not feeling bloated nor hungry. The main area was romantic, as was the ambiance, which made for the perfect Valentines Day evening.
I had a wonderful experience here! The server was very gracious and attentive. The menu items were interesting and the food was very tasty.
Even the less expensive stir fry items seemed to be lovingly put together. Everything was beautifully prepared. I can't wait to come back!
