I was brought onboard this company with the personal expectations of creating new business from existing contacts within the experiential marketing industry. The sales person that recommended me for the role explained how great the company was and how management wants you to succeed. During the interview process they stated that there leads that they already had internally that they wanted me to work on in addition to bringing in new business. I have been in the industry for a very long time and know a large number of people/potential clients. From the first day of hire they started asking me for my book of business. Names, addresses, phone numbers, etc of everyone I knew in agencies. They continued to ask for this and were irritated when I would not just openly provide my contacts to them. I made 2 business trips with them. First was to an industry tradeshow and second was to NY for established meetings with personal contacts. There was a continuous lack of training although I asked for it. There was an “advance” which was labeled as a bonus on my checks that was given to me monthly for the 90 days. At my termination, they retained my final 2 weeks of pay and recouped they their “advances” and state that I still owe them money. I understand that they wanted to recoup some money from what they paid out in advance commissions but how can you expect someone to come in so is new in sales, provide no training and expect them to be an expert in 90 days. When they aren’t you kick them out and not pay them for their final 2 weeks and want to get money back. All I am asking for is my last 2 weeks of pay. I worked and deserve at least that. The total after taxes is : $1,755.28. If they would agree to pay this amount, I will step away and not continue further ways to recoup my hard earned last 2 weeks of pay. If you are interested in me taking this review off, please contact me with a resolution to this situation.
