- BotoxA. There are many options now available that can effectively treat wrinkles without down time. For the upper face, the use of Botox or fillers such as Restylane are very reliable and have a superb level of patient satisfaction. For the lower face, especially lines around the mouth, the use of Restylane or collagen can be very useful. A laser procedure can treat lines of the entire face and also have the benefit of tightening the skin of the upper and lower eyelids.
- Lip AugmentationDesigned for patients who wish to treat the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles or folds, Restylane injections are now FDA approved for use in the United States. In addition to correcting the signs of aging, Restylane injections can be used to provide lip augmentation and facial contouring. The major advantage to using Restylane injections is the active ingredient, hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body. And because Restylane injections contain no animal or human products, there is no risk of allergic reaction, so patients can receive treatment with Restylane injections immediately following consultation, without having to wait days or weeks for the results of an allergy test.
- Laser ResurfacingLaser resurfacing is a treatment for reducing facial wrinkles and skin irregularities, such as blemishes or acne scars. The technique directs short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin. Laser skin resurfacing removes skin very precisely, layer by layer, resulting in fewer problems with hypopigmentation (lightening of skin). This popular procedure is known by several other names, including lasabrasion, laser peel or laser vaporization.
- MolesA: We do indeed offer mole removal, but not with a laser. Generally it is not advisable to remove moles by laser if they are in fact true moles and not something else. That is because the laser is a burning tool, and that destroys the mole--then there is no way to do a biopsy (which should be done). If the moles are raised, usually a shave excision is performed on them. If moles require an excision because they are large, flat or irregular in appearance, this requires suturing.
- Cosmetic DermatologyThe Atlanta Dermatology and Medispa Center provides full medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology services for care of the skin and for the management of skin, hair and nail disorders. There are over 2000 different skin diseases, and we have the knowledge and expertise to recognize them and offer the best plan for management through medical, surgical and cosmetic therapies.
- Skin CancerMoles most frequently develop in young adults until about the age of 40. Depending on their location, moles may go unnoticed -- or they may become a nuisance by rubbing against clothing and getting in the way of shaving. Moles can also lead to dangerous health problems. Many skin cancers, including melanoma, begin in the shape of a mole.

- FungusA: Nail fungus is a fungal infection in your nail(s). It is the most common disease of the nails and constitutes about 50% of all nail abnormalities. The nail plate can have a thickened, yellow, or cloudy appearance. The nails can become rough and crumbly, or can separate from the nail bed. It can be embarrassing, unsightly, and disfiguring.
- Chemical PeelsChemical peel uses a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. It is helpful for those individuals with facial blemishes, wrinkles and uneven skin pigmentation. Phenol, trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) are used for this purpose. The precise formula used may be adjusted to meet each patient's needs.
- Skin CareQ: I am a teen with terrible acne. My friends and family all accuse me of not washing myself properly, but I have studied magazines and books about skin care, and I have learned what I think to be the proper procedure. Help!
- MicrodermabrasionA: Certainly! You may want to wait until the next day before swimming or wearing makeup, but microdermabrasion is a mild enough treatment to resume normal activity almost immediately.
