Do NOT eat at this restaurant if you have a family. There are 5 beer advertisements in the window. This sends the wrong message to the Torah observant community. This is NOT a family friendly place. If the beer advertisements don't turn you off, the overpriced and overhyped food will. If you need kosher food, there are other, better choices at the same intersection: Kosher Gourmet (next door), Pita Palace (just around the corner), and a large dairy section at Whole Foods (across the street).
My niece graduated from Emory Medical School today. A wonderful occasion. Food from this restaurant was ordered ahead as a graduation celebratory lunch. At the last minute we decided that it would be more festive to eat the food in the restaurant. The attendees were the graduate, her husband, 3 month old baby, parents, grandmother, aunt and cousin. Approximately 4 other tables of patrons were in the restaurant at the time. We were refused service, BY THE MANAGER, because the food was ordered ahead, and other patrons would have to wait for food longer that we would. There were no other patrons waiting. We offered to pay for the waitress service (of course), and the offer was refused. We were not allowed to eat the food in the restaurant. The graduate and her husband are regular customers. She was treated with disdain, rudeness, irrational behavior and forced to leave. When her mother mentioned it was her graduation day and suggested that they make an exception, she was told that ""a lot of people graduated today""! None, however, were in the restaurant. It is quite obvious why that is the case. If you are a regular patron of this restaurant, I would suggest that you consider other options. There is never an excuse for treating a customer rudely or with disrespect. The owner of this restaurant needs to fire the manager immediately.
It was and still is AMAZING!!!! I wish i could eat there for every meal. They have amazing pizza and many many other delicious dishes.
As one of the only dairy kosher restaurants in Atlanta, Broadway must be doing something right to remain in business.
This is a really poor example of a kosher restaurant.. Yes, the place looks better and even the menu is improved. However, the poor outlook the owners have on how to treat their ""limited"" clientele is really shameful... I will never spend another $1.00 in this location and make sure that neither will my friends. There are other kosher options in Atlanta.
really good food, though the service can sometimes be variable. just moved in to a new location which is a good bit more nicely decorated and feels less cramped. i love the personal pizas, esp the whole wheat crust. maybe a tad expensive, but i think worth it. a couple of the waitresses are real hotties, which is nice too.
WORST RESTAURANT SERVICE EVER!!!
my friend and i, both vegans, go to this restaurant called Broadway Cafe.. its a vegetarian jewish restaurant that mostly serves pizza, weird right?.. no menu in sight so we had to request them.. there's a freakin dirty sink just randomly sitting out in the eating area.. the place is a dump.. sit down at a table that is placed in the middle of the walk way.. the table felt like a parked car on a busy intersection with herds of people parting to circumvent our table.. this 15 year old waitress comes up and she's like ""you guys gonna leave?"".. we're like uh give us one more minute to look at the menu.. ten minutes later she didnt return.. so we walk up and place our order at about 6:10pm.. at 6:20pm we get our drinks.. at 6:41pm we still had not been served our appetizer so i walk up.. i'm like it's been half an hour and we still don't have our appetizer which is just freakin hummus and pita.. the two waitresses and all the people standing around getting their pizzas laugh in my face literally laughing aloud.. she's like ""your food is ready."".. i sit down.. ten more minutes pass.. ten more minutes pass.. at 7:00 i walk up and say ""it's been an hour i'd like to pay for my sodas and just leave.. she's like ""that'll be 4.50"".. for lame drinks.. i pay a five and she waits a good 3 or 4 minutes and then pays me change out of her own freakin PURSE.. the whole time we waited, other people were getting served and served and served.. people came in, ordered food, and left while we waited the whole time.. i ask ""i'm curious may i ask if our food is even close to being ready?"".. her response: The waiter hasn't started on your order yet. this restaurant completely ignored our existence, and i couldn't figure out what we did wrong!?!?!?!
Broadway Cafe is just a little hole in the wall at the intersection of Briarcliff and Lavista, near the Beth Jacob Community. It's menu is vegetarian with a few fish dishes. Sometimes when I go to the Quality Kosher Meat, yes meat, Emporium across, the street, I will go in for a quick nosh. Very family friendly, owned by Judith and Ed Bloom. Creative vegetarian dishes, with the usual Jewish standards like Matzo Ball Soup and Potato Latkes. Not fancy, but fulfilling, in a Bubie sort of way!
