St. Jude's treatment services are based on the belief that addiction is a disease and that treatment must focus on the whole person. A holistic approach is used that includes addressing mental, physical and spiritual issues. St. Jude's is a Recovery Oriented System of Care that includes programs and services designed to support the client over a life time of recovery. St. Jude's programs and services are based on the following SAMHSA's ( Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration ) Evidence-based Programs and Practices and Programs. SAMHSA'S National Registry of Evidence Base Programs: A Woman's Path to Recovery, Boston Consortium Model: Trauma-Informed Substance Abuse Treatment for Women, Brief Strengths-Based Case Management for Substance Abuse, Cocaine Specific Coping Skills Training, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Double Trouble in Recovery, Living in Balance: Moving from a Life of Addiction to a Life of Recovery, Matrix Model, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Relapse Prevention Therapy, Supportive-Expressive Psychotherapy, Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model ( TREM ), and Twelve Step Facilitation Therapy. St. Jude's Recovery Center, a private nonprofit 501 ( c ) ( 3 ), has been addressing the problem of substance abuse in metropolitan Atlanta since 1962. The agency, which was founded through the efforts of All Saints and St. Luke's Episcopal churches, was the first long-term residential treatment program for male alcoholics in Atlanta.
