      General Info
      Barrow Elementary School is one of the elementary schools operated by the Clarke County School District. The school offers classes from grades prekindergarten through five, and enrolls more than 400 students. Its curriculum meets the standards set by the Georgia Department of Education, and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and Georgia Accrediting Commission. The school has a computer lab, fully equipped library and a parent-teacher association. It offers language arts instruction combined with outdoor classroom activities, which features a butterfly garden, a natural trail and backyard composting. Its English as a second language program is available for all gifted students, and operates the Barrow Learners are Systematic Thinkers program to maximize math achievement for all students. The school provides a variety of extracurricular activities, including island trips, character education and star student programs, fine arts program, PTA-funded field trips, science Olympiad, and events for every grade-level musical. The school also offers guidance counseling, and is located in Athens, Ga.
