This company is unfortunately despicably dishonest and deceitful. A salesman came to our home offering to do a free 30 minute carpet cleaning. FOUR hours later under the insistent reassurance that we could easily return it and be refunded if we changed our minds within three days, we caved and bought it. The salesman assured us we could "Just call us up!" if we wanted to return it. By the second day of trying it out, I knew that vacuum was not for me (cumbersome, hard to use, etc). I tried calling them and got the answering machine where I left a detailed message explaining that we wanted to return the vacuum. We reread the instructions and also sent in the written cancellation notice and took it to the post office to make sure it was postmarked by the correct date. By the next week, we still hadn't heard back, so I called again and left a message. We also called the main Kirby headquarters and they told us to just give T and B distributing more time to respond. So we continued to wait. We called multiple times over a period of almost 3 weeks before a real person finally answered. She told us she would relay our message and have someone call us back. No one did. After continuing to call multiple times over the next few weeks, someone finally answered and they then denied having received any voicemail messages and claimed that they never received the cancellation paperwork. We've been through a long battle with the Kirby company and T and B distributing to resolve this and despite providing records of our phone calls (showing that we called them on the third day trying to cancel and multiple times during the following weeks) they have continued to deny everything. I have definitely learned my own lesson in this and will never again cave to a high pressure sales pitch, especially without having researched the company first. Please don't fall for this dishonest company!
