Appleton Area Health Services is a health care facility that includes a hospital, medical clinic and long-term care nursing facility. It has a more than 15-bed critical access hospital that offers acute care, swing bed and respite care bed services. It offers an array of medical, surgical and health services, such as 24-hour emergency care, obstetrics, surgery, and short- and long-term outpatient procedures. Appleton Area Health Services medical staff is comprised of several physicians and nurse practitioners. It operates a grief center that provides a variety of services, such as grief counseling, and support, community education, volunteer training, special activities and debriefing services. Appleton Area Health Services also provides hospice care services, such as comprehensive medical care, pain and symptom management, assistance with finances and insurance concerns, and hand and foot massages.
