poor attitude on phone -- very rude
We've used Master Muffler for years to keep a motley variety of cars and trucks on the road. They've done everything from rebuild a Nissan engine for us to tell me (embarrassingly enough) that the really scary sound coming from my car was actually a silly and simple thing and quite my fault - quickly fixed w/ no repair needed. They've also managed some innovative (and effective) repairs that would have cost me $$$ and probably a fleecing to boot anywhere else at $ and a quick return to the road. Scott has always called me with an estimate and an honest opinion concerning any repairs and often weighed in with alternatives whenever I've asked. Thanks Master Muffler....we'll be back!
I have been going to Master Muffler & Brake Center for nearly 17 years. Scott has always been honest with me. In fact, when my transmission died, he spent many hours finding me a rebuilt trans with low miles. After it was installed it made a grating noise, though it was working, he spent a whole week trying to find out what the problem was - even calling in other mechanics for their input. I seldom see the level of service in local businesses such as I do when I get my car worked on. He has even told me that something doesn't need to be replaced right away when I thought there was a problem. He has a very diverse customer base and he treats everyone the same. I know he has saved me lots of money. Why go to a dealer? I think the person who left the review with a warning either didn't realize there was a problem or there was a communication issue or something. I think Scott is very honest. I have referred many people to Master Muffler without hesitation.
I took my car to have the timing belt changed, and was told the water pump is always replaced when the belt is replaced. So he replaced both of them and the computer sensor since the belt broke it. Well my car was left there in good condition and I had to learn from a friend that my rear windshield was shattered. When I went to the shop to get my car, I had to call the police to report the incident and Scott the owner said the car arrived that way and it certainly didn't. He was very nervous, shaky and said that he is not responsible for any cars on his property that get damaged even though he has insurance for them, but has an extremely high deductible so the customer gets nothing. I am taking him to court to recoup my money for the new window, the tint, loss wages, rental car etc. He told me to pay for the repairs and if they're under $200 he'll reimburse me half only if I use his people. Fat chance, to court we go. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY, HE'S A LIAR AND OVER CHARGES.
