BMW R1200GS
I moved to the Pacific Northwest recently and went to Westedge Cycle for needed engine oil and brake fluid changes plus a general inspection for my BMW R1200 GS. Westedge was very easy to work with and very conscientious in its approach. All the work was done on time at a reasonable labor rate. The staff was experienced, competent and cooperative. Highly recommended.

I don't have an expensive Harley, BMW, Ducati, Triumph etc. I simply have a 2011 Yamaha Zuma 125cc scooter. I use it to commute on Fidalgo Island and have racked up 19,000 miles on it doing so. The first two years of ownership I took it to the service center I purchased it from, thinking that was my best option. Needless to say I wasn't thrilled with the servicing they did so I started looking local. Thank goodness I did! That's when I discovered Rob at Westedge Cycle! Rob does a top notch job on my Zuma and keeps it running in tip top shape. In addition to that, he treats me and my Zuma just as if I was bringing him a high performance expensive sport bike. He recommends upgrades or modifications based on wear, safety and durability and has not only saved me money, but made it safer for me to ride during our rainy wet soggy months. A wreck at 50mph on slippery roads on a scooter will hurt just as much if not more than on a big heavy motorcycle. I'm very grateful to Rob for his expertise and customer service. I recommend Westedge Cycle to anyone needing their motorcycle or scooter worked on or modified! I send all my friends and others to Westedge Cycle. Rob really cares about his customers and it shows in the quality of work he does!

I had Rob Westergard of Wested...

I had Rob Westergard of Westedge Cycle, Anacortes WA do a 36,000-mile service on my 2006 BMW K1200LT motorcycle. The day I brought my bike in for service Rob informed me that he was not familiar with my bike and the one-day turn-around I could expect from a Certified BMW Motorcycle Mechanic would take him two days. Due to Rob’s reputation and looking for an alternative to driving to Seattle for motorcycle service I agreed to have Rob start doing service on my motorcycle.

Upon picking my bike up from Westedge Cycle, it quickly became apparent that Rob was correct. Rob was not familiar with my bike! When I went to fuel for the first time post-service I was unable to completely open my fuel access compartment. Rob reinstalled my motorcycle cover incorrectly. I went back to Rob with this problem and he did fix it by forcing the rubber dam material that was blocking the door from opening, back into place with a screwdriver.

I keep a fuel log, as a lot of people do, and realized that I was experiencing a 6.9% mpg fuel economy drop within the first 1,500 miles post-service at Westedge Cycle. Since I take great pains and expense, $900.00 for this service, to keep my motorcycle running in top condition I contacted Rob to see if maybe the fuel mixture might be running too ‘rich’. I was hoping the fuel mixture could be adjusted by a simple turn of a screwdriver. Rob told me that keeping a fuel log was absurd, and demanded that since I was worried about a drop of fuel efficiency after his service, that I should take my bike elsewhere and then hung the phone up on me. HE ACTUALLY HUNG THE PHONE UP ON ME!

I learned my lesson. Even though Rob might have his business plastered with BMW Motorrad signs and have his website loaded up with BMW motorcycle photos, giving you the impression that he’s a BMW motorcycle mechanic … there is no replacement for a Certified BMW Motorcycle Mechanic!

After calling and ordering a tire for my bike through them, not even an hour later I called to see if they had ordered it or not because I had found a better deal. But several hours later they called back cursing me out about losing money on the tire and service. If they would of calmly explained the situation I would of gladly of gone with their services, but now will never go there and will tell everyone I can of their poor business practices.
