My husband--who was in a wheelchair--and I were always welcomed for our regular checkups into the spacious, comfortable waiting room with a smile, to enjoy the soft music, abundance of magazines and lovely fireplace; but not for long, as we rarely had more than a 5 minute wait before we were lead into one of the spotless cubicles with the most modern equipment, picture windows overlooking lovely greenery, and beautiful photography (by Dr. Bethards himself) gracing the walls, as we were handed headphones with multiple choices of music, and sunglasses. Dr. Bethards would personally help lift my husband into the exam chair, and offer anything needed to make him comfortable. We would be seen by one of the excellent hygeinists, for a very professional, thorough, and gentle cleaning, taking into consideration my very sensitive teeth. Then, we would be seen by Dr. Bethards, who would perform a complete dental exam, with clear explanation on the status of our teeth, or any specific problem area, if an "emergency" appointment was required. and perform whatever treatment was necessary, with consistent meticulous service, courtesy, and consideration for our needs. [On a day when one of us had a dental appointment, my husband and I would joke that we were scheduled for a "vacation day" at Dr. Bethards.] Dr. Bethards help keep our teeth in excellent health for many years before my dear husband passed on and I had to leave my beloved Anacortes. To this day, I consider Dr. Bethards the most excellent dentist--in every way--among the many which I had--and currently experience, and I thank him for his many years of outstanding care.
