I would NEVER patronize Alexanders in Ambridge after my horrible experience. If you are considering hosting a special occasion here... reconsider.



In July , 2011, we hosted a bridal shower at Alexander's Restaurant in Ambridge, PA. Although the food wasn't bad, the service was mediocre and drinks were not refilled timely. When the bill arrived, we were over-charged by a nominal amount. We kindly brought it to Kay's (owner's attention) in which she was correcting. Her son, one of the servers of this family owned business, begins "yelling" at us indicating that we were not over-charged and that an over-charge would never happen. Then the cook (owner's husband) arrives and shouts "I don't' need their f**** business. These are not good people." Completely insulted us and raised his voice to the point where other customers could hear him. Also, the other server (another son) begins throwing wine bottles in a bin... loud noises AND splashing us as we were seated in the bar area trying to resolve the situation. Lastly, Kay accuses us (the customer) of stealing her chip baskets only to find out that one of her sons already collected them and put them in the kitchen. No apology was extended to us for the billing discrepancy or the false accusation of stealing baskets. I have never been so humiliated or treated so rudely.



There are no re-dos in life and this was a memorable experience but for the wrong reasons. The memories of the bridal shower are clouded with the out-of-control and rude behavior of the owners. I am still shocked and outraged by the way the owners treated us over their billing error.

The food, service, even the smell of this place was all bad. I have always wanted to try this restaurant and unfortunately waited for a special occasion to do so. I made a bad mistake and apologized to all in our party for picking this restaurant. I am really curious how their doors are still open for business. The employees there did not subscribe to the thought that the customer is right - heck, they treated our table like garbage. Oh yeah - that is what the food tasted like too. Bad, bad experience all around.
