I am a huge animal lover and was disgusting with the conditions that some of the animals have to live in. Primarily the smaller animals are kept in small cages with too many in each. There is dust caked on the tops. Some of the rodents have wheels that are not even big enough for them to use. The staff is very unhelpful and lack knowledge. This place should be shut down

I must say critters has been around for years. The different fish selections, to the kittens and bunnies and to the reptiles are all awesome. Great customer service. Any questions i have are always answered. Growing up from a child to an adult i still go into critters to look around. The only recomendation i have is to expand the building into a bigger building to have even greater selection. And to bring selling puppies back! I love the fact all animals at critters get seen by a vet before selling. Its an overall great shop and i enjoy visiting a few times a week. All my fish and my kitten came from critters. Very happy with my outcome. I do advise if you dont like animal smells not to go and complain about it stinking because its an animal store its going to. Love seeing mr. Alli (alligator), the fishies and the ferrets along with every other animal. I gave it 5 stars because its convenient. Prices are great. And the workers are great as well. Ones even cute ���� . great job critters!

I hate that I even have to give this wretched place ONE star! It certainly doesn't deserve it. I went in and as I started going through the store I became more and more disgusted, horrified, and livid with the people running the sad excuse for a business. I got to the end of the tank areas where they have the "isolation tanks" for aggressive or sick fish. NO FISH THE SIZE OF A HAND SHOULD EVER BE KEPT IN ONLY A 10 GALLON TANK!!!! I don't care if that fish is sick, aggressive, or just likes being alone, that is TOO small! Secondly, that poor alligator living in the back of the store! He is as big as his "home" & why the hell should ANYONE have an alligator?? I know for a FACT they did not get the legal clearance to have that animal. There was a DEAD ferret in the cage being trampled on by his prison mates, other small animals were all sweating to death, the baby hamsters were in the same cage as their parents (BIG NO NO!!!) & I WILL be contacting Animal Control and the WPA/sheriff.

Awesome place I bought a 15k (very large) saltwater tank and they set it up for me. Everything perfect with install. Absolutely love this place and have for years. They take care of me every time I go in. These 1 star nags are full of doo doo.

I feel awful for the poor croc in the back of the store. He was as big as his cage. The aquariums seems like they know what there doing and should just stick to that and leave these poor animals alone.

I gave three stars for fasting courteous service. But I don't like the fact that the store is so small its hard to move around. all in all, it is a good place to shop.

I recently bought a puppy from this place. Within 15 minutes of leaving the store, the dog has diarrhea. This went on all weekend. Monday we took him to our vet. Critters recommended we take him there within the week anyway. The vet concluded that he had Coccidiosis. Called critters to be told that all they would do was to give us the meds to treat him. Those were less than $20 at my vet. I talked with the owner and asked if he would at least help cover the cost of the test that found the Coccidiosis. He refused telling me that the dog was healthy when he left the store. They refused to take any responsibility what so ever for selling a sick puppy.



The most upsetting thing for me is that they wouldn't even apologize for this happening. He did offer to buy the pup back. Said he would treat him and resell him. And they wouldn't have to pay to have the testing done because I had already done that.



I did give two stars because the staff was helpful. Too bad I cant say the same thing about the owner.

I really don't see whats going on with these bad reviews unless they were just having a bad day? But critters has literally been my one stop pet shop, They tell me exactly when pinkies are coming in so I can feed my snakes, Which ill be going there today to get :) So the people posting rude remarks about this store well you need to lay off the crack and realize what a nice store this place actually is.

Great service, excellent products always available for exotic as well as common domestic pets. (I have cats, dogs, snakes). I was a vet tech for nearly 17 years, and if anyone thinks anything is out of order at Critters, then they've never had to take care of more than a few pets at a time and are more than likely completely uneducated on pets other than those they've actually had in their care. They do an excellent job even if it is not obvious to each and every one of the most basic pet owners that have more access to computers than they have broad-scope animal knowledge.

I'm very surprised that there are any poor reviews for this place. It has been so useful towards my years of pet owning experiences. I can just call the store and ask any question I have for my pets and they answer. They are all very experienced and know what they are doing. As for the store itself, people need to understand that it is privately owned. And for a privately owned business, all the animals I have bought from this store have been great animals.

OMG this place is a nightmare! When I first walked in I was excited to see the large selection of aquarium supplies and fish and started to grab a few things for my tank. But the further I wandered through the store the worse it got. They have several birds, from doves to conure's all smooshed into tiny dirty looking wire cages. Same goes for the small animals, rabbits etc. They must have had 15 hamsters in a tiny little cage all together. My heart about stopped as I approached what looked like a wire kennel behind a closed off area in a dark little corner of the store. The had 2 little dachshund puppies in a tiny breeder cage with a wire grated floor. It was so depressing and just awful looking. I was really surprised to see they had puppies as it seems to (thankfully) be a slowly dying trend due to puppy mill awareness. They also had 2 huge alligators, about 5 feet in length in a very small little area. Why they had these giant gators is beyond me, it was something that should be in a zoo. Needless to say, I put my items back and left. There was NO way I'd ever support a store that treats their animals this way or sells puppies. It just made me sick.

Critters sells puppies that come from puppy mills, I bought a puppy from them for 600$ and it died of parvo 2 days later! The vet said it was because the dog most likely came from a puppy mill.

WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE CRITTERS!!!! I DO NOT AGREE WITH ANY BAD REVIEWS...... WE CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON CRITTERS FOR ALL OUR SALTWATER NEEDS!!!! We are family here!!!! The owner MIKE is a really great guy! JEREMIAH is as well! Their employees are great kids, if they don't know something they will ask someone who does such as Jeremiah. When our 3 year old son was having a melt down, one of the kids asked if he can take him to see how he feeds the big fish. Our son was happy as can be! We have been coming here as long as I can remember. We bring in our saltwater fish that's not compatable and they give us credit! Which we use. Their service is great! They get pretty BUSY, so PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMER IN THEIR & THERE ARE PEOPLE INFRONT OF YOU AS WELL! They have sold us Great products at good prices! It's worth the drive! They get in nice saltwater fish, as well as there other animals. They keep the store and animals habitates clean. They sure do care & that matters!

I've been going here since I was a kid and will continue to go here. The fish program is great and the prices are decent. The larger fish and reptiles are bought from customers who don't have the room or resources to take care of them when they get too large. It's great to know there is a place to go for people to get answers to any questions they have. It's a great family owned business that I hope stays for many more years to come!

This place is great. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They have everything you need and the animals are well fed and taken care of. The have a huge variety of fish. I love to hang around there and watch all the fish.

I had such a bad experience with them. Found they would not stand by their own mistakes. Not at all happy with their service or how they treat their costumers. After my own experience, I researched them and found many bad reviews. lesson learned research businesses before investing time with them, just my own opinion.

I love this pet shop this is the only pet shop that carries my exotic pets food and no where else shuch as hedgehog and sugar glider and i love the homey feeling and such great servic and any 1 that want a pet and suplies go to critters they will get u a deal and do u the best ever in a store the store is the best pet shop in the world.

In the back of the store the wandering customer can find a 4-foot crocodile kept in a small cage with a large snake of some sort also in similar conditions. The iguanas are all deformed from lack of calcium and proper heating and lighting. When I bought an iguana there, they told me to feed her just romaine lettuce. After doing some research I discovered that iguanas are extremely high maintenance and require a large variety of vegetables to get the proper nutrients.They also did not tell me that the 3 inch reptile would grow to be 6 feet long and live over 15 years. To make a long story short, they are all about the money and they could care less about the animals.
