It's well worth noting that this salon has completely new management in 2017 that is clearly much more customer focused! The salon has undergone a complete makeover with more amenities and a much nicer location, and they have added many more Incredibly talented stylists to their staff. Don't be misled by a couple past reviews that reference a different owner at a different location under the same name.

I bought the Living Social deal for partial highlights, cut and style as several other readers have mentioned. I work nearby and have driven past this little salon several times, and thought it looked cute. As such, I figured I'd give it a chance... The salon is small and boutiquey. It's a cute little place and gives you that small, personal feel. They have a very nice environment and amenities (like massage chairs, etc). The staff was friendly and professional. They obviously enjoy their jobs and were delightful to me without being too personal as I am a bit of a quiet person and sometimes can't really handle talking with a stylist for an hour + of my time. My experience was terrific. I treat myself to a "real" cut/style every other time I get my hair done because it's so long and thick that the prices add up fast. I, too, purchased the Salon Amarti deal on LivingSocial, but I did a cut/gloss treatment. I was extremely pleased with the service and will absolutely return! It is a cute boutique salon in Old Town Alexandria, had tons of charm and character. Sammy made me feel comfortable right away, and he did a great job on my hair. I loved the massaging chair at the shampoo station... didn't want to leave! My appointment was at 1:00 and they were busy, so Sammy ordered pizza for everyone including the customers. I've received several compliments on my cut & how shiny it looks... great value & great find!

I purchased a deal for I color and cut on one of the coupon sites. I won't be going back, even if they offered it for free. I needed to get my roots done black, as the rest of my hair. The guy never asked what exactly color I use; he just went ahead and mixed dark brown. My hair looks pretty ridiculous, especially outside in the sun. The cut was supposed to be based on a picture provided by me. He never objected to this being a problem. When I pointed out after that my hair doesn't look anything like on the picture, I got an answer: "Oh, but you can't do this to your hair! It would get frizzy and it wouldn't look good! Your hair is no good for this!". Well, why didn't you tell me that BEFORE you cut my hair totally different than I wanted?! Another word of caution. I just saw that they are doing the deal AGAIN (now with Homerun). I am wondering if they need to do those deals because they don't have enough regulars...
