- Dental ExaminationA comprehensive examination is the foundation of good dental care. It allows the doctor, hygienist and patient to get to know each other, and discuss the reason for your visit. It’s important for you to let our staff know about any medical conditions you have, any allergies, and any prescription drugs you take. You are more than a collection of teeth and your general health is of great concern to us. Please also let us know about any special circumstances that may affect your dental care, such as medical conditions. such as participation in sports or previous major dental work you’ve had done.

- Teeth CleaningA cavity is caused by the acid produced by the bacteria in your mouth and on your teeth. Brushing and flossing regularly, as well as regular dental cleanings will greatly reduce the likelihood that this acid will have the chance to erode a hole in your tooth (cavity). Unlike bone and skin, a tooth is not able to heal itself or fill in the hole. That’s why a dental filling is necessary.
- Fluoride TreatmentFluoride treatments help strengthen teeth that have been weakened by the acids in plaque and tartar. They come in a variety of flavors, and are applied to the teeth as foam or a gel. Even though it tastes good, don’t swallow it! After the application, you’ll spit out the remaining fluoride leaving a thin film of fluoride which the tooth will absorb and make it more resistant to decay.
- Dental SealantsDental sealants act as a physical barrier against the formation of tooth decay. A thin plastic coating is painted onto the surfaces of the back teeth, where cavities are most likely to occur. The plastic binds to the pits and ridges of the chewing surfaces keeping plaque and acids from building up and causing tooth decay.
- FillingsAt first, the cavity isn’t painful. If it gets large enough and deep enough to reach the nerve, it will become extremely painful. Regular dental visits will allow us to catch cavities in the early stages and avoid more extensive and expensive dental treatment. When filling a tooth, we clean out the bacteria and debris, and fill it with a hard material that will allow the tooth to continue to function normally. We offer a choice of tooth-colored filling material (composite), or the traditional silver filling material (amalgam). Amalgam fillings tend to be sturdier and last longer and are recommended for back teeth. If you need a filling in a front tooth that will be visible when you smile or talk, a composite will be less noticeable.
- VeneersLumineers is a brand of very thin veneer that’s made from a special kind of porcelain called Cerinate. They are much thinner than a traditional porcelain veneer, and have the translucent appearance of normal tooth enamel. If your teeth are very crooked, they probably aren’t the best choice. But for most people, Lumineers are an excellent choice since they are quite simple to place, give amazing results, and don’t require much if any preparation or grinding of the actual tooth surface. They’re quite durable, and simpler to remove and replace if they do get cracked or discolored.
- CrownsA crown is a tooth-shaped cap that fits over a natural tooth that’s been damaged by decay or injury past the point that it can be restored with a filling. The crown restores the function and appearance of the tooth while preventing future decay. If you have a tooth that’s severely cracked or broken, or has a major cavity that hasn’t left much of the natural tooth, a crown is the best type of treatment. The material most often used to make a crown is porcelain. We also offer a newer material called zirconia. Zirconia is a very hard and durable material that resists fracture and yet is tooth colored. This gives us both durability and esthetics.
- BridgesA dental bridge is just what it sounds like, a bridge connecting two teeth over the space left by one or more missing teeth. The two natural teeth on either side of the gap have crowns placed with a false tooth attached to the crowns in between called a pontic. When cemented in place, it allows normal chewing and speaking, and gives a natural appearance in the mouth.

- Root Canal TreatmentThe thought of a root canal is scary to most people. The majority of root canals are tolerated well and uneventful. They are a routine procedure. The only ones people talk about are the ones that are difficult. This is usually due to waiting too long to seek treatment. When done in a timely manner discomfort is minimal. When was the last time someone came up to and said “I just had a great root canal”. You hear about the “difficult” ones, which is a small percentage of all root canals.
- Deep CleaningThe process of scaling and root planing is a deep cleaning of the areas around the roots of the teeth, removing both tartar and plaque. Once the roots are clean and smooth, and any debris and plaque are removed, the gums can begin to heal and reseal around the teeth. Routine dental cleanings and a good home care routine should keep gingivitis from returning. The mouth is divided into four quadrants and one or two quadrants are done at each visit. We can “numb” your mouth to make this a more comfortable procedure. If you have periodontal disease, the bone loss can’t be reversed. But regular dental care can keep it from getting worse.
- DenturesThere are two types of dentures, complete and partial. Complete dentures are used when all natural teeth are missing or have been removed. Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain, and the partial denture uses them for support and prevents them from changing position in your mouth. If you have some sturdy natural teeth that can support a partial denture, then a partial denture may be the right choice for you.

- Bone GraftingTo remain stable and function as an effective tooth replacement, the implant must have sufficient bone tissue to support it. Significant bone loss may render some patients unlikely candidates for receiving teeth implants. In such cases, Dr. Jamharian may recommend bone grafting procedures to increase bone volume and prepare the site(s) for implant placement. Once the grafted bone tissue has integrated successfully with the existing bone, the process for placing the dental implant can begin.
- Teeth WhiteningTooth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dentistry services. Everyone wants a bright, white smile. It increases your confidence, and enhances your appearance. Whitening may not be the best choice for all tooth discoloration. If your teeth are yellowish, you’ll get an excellent result. Brownish discoloration will get good results, but may not get completely white without follow-up and at-home treatments. Grayish discoloration that can result from antibiotics or previous root canals will generally not get much of a result, but may respond with diligent bleaching and at-home treatment. If this is the case you may consider Lumineers or traditional porcelain veneers.
- Cosmetic DentistryCosmetic dentistry may involve a variety of different treatments. Perhaps your teeth are nicely shaped and even and all you need is teeth whitening. Or you may need more advanced dentistry to reshape and replace missing or broken teeth. Whatever your needs are Dr. Jamharian is trained to provide a large variety of treatments to address your particular concerns. He offers the latest in Lumineers, Porcelain Veneers, Crowns, Dental Implants and more. Please visit us at www.PricelessSmiles.com and view our "Before and After" gallery.
