- Dental SealantsAngela, Nanette and Nikki are highly skilled surgical assistants who assist Dr. Buttner with both office and hospital surgical procedures. They have received training and credentialing from the state of New Mexico and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Angela has been certified in coronal polishing, pit and fissure sealant placement, topical fluoride and dental radiography by the State Dental Board and has successfully passed the oral and maxillofacial surgery anesthesia assistants program mentored by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Angela has been a dental assistant for more than twenty years and worked with Dr. Buttner as a surgical assistant for the past seventeen years. Kelly has received her dental radiography certificate from the State Dental Board and has also successfully completed the anesthesia assistants program. Nanette has successfully completed her state dental radiography certificate. Nikki also has her dental radiography certificate and completed the anesthesia assistants program. Nanette and Nikki have over twenty years of combined dental assisting experience. They are all certified in basic life support for the healthcare provider. Dr. Buttner, Tom (recovery nurse) and the surgical assistants Angela, Nanette and Nikki participate in monthly self administered emergency response training in the office to keep their skills current and efficient. Their home lives are kept busy with family activities and children.
- Dental ImplantsDr. Buttner specializes in oral and maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis on dentoalveolar surgery which includes wisdom teeth removal, placement of dental implants, extraction of diseased teeth and oral pathology evaluation and treatment. These procedures can be done comfortably with either local anesthesia or intravenous conscious sedation within the premises. - Maxillofacial SurgeryDr Buttner was raised in Albuquerque and attended the Albuquerque Academy. He received his baccalaureate degree from the University of New Mexico obtaining a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in chemistry. He attended the respected University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry for his formal dental training and received his doctorate in 1990. He was immediately accepted into a four year residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. After matriculating through residency he returned to Albuquerque and established a private practice.
