In July, 2014, I had TKR, a total success. But St. Peter's surgical unit was a major disappointment. The evening of my surgery, another patient was admitted to the same room. Her companion was obviously impaired, used the patient restroom, came into my side of the room, addressed me by name, though I had never met him . He was cursing and seemed disoriented, saying he was going out to buy something and return later that night. I told the nurse I felt very uncomfortable and I learned there were no visiting hours and he could do exactly that. I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep, and asked to be moved. The nurse said there were no other rooms. I called my family, and later was moved to another room. I later called a nurse, at least 10 times with no response. A nurse immediately responded to the other patient in the room, who directed her to me. That nurse told me I was not her only patient, and that she had "already fulfilled one request for me." I was only hours out of surgery

my wife had a heart attack on Dec. 24, 2011. she wound up in St. Peters. On Dec. 27 she had 4 heart bypasses done. The whole family, including my wife, were very please with the care she got at St. Peters. Its now 3 months later and she continues to do very well. Always very energectic, she is once again.

This was the best experience i have ever had going to the er.

Excellent Hospital. I was in Albany during 1998 responding to a Federally Declared disaster "Storm 98" where Albany suffered a large freezing. To make a long story short, I got a kidney stone stuck in my bladder and St. Peter"s Hospital and Dr. Engelsein saved me. Thanks to all those employees in St. Peter's Hospital.
