- Oral Cancer ScreeningAn amazing number of different kinds of growths or lesions (benign or malignant) can form in the mouth or around the head, scalp or neck. Oral healthcare providers are among the most influential professional group in the fight against tobacco-related health problems including oral cancer. Dr. Santin will perform an oral cancer screening during each exam. Signs of oral cancer are change in color or texture of soft tissue, persistent sore throat, slow healing cuts or sores and lumps in mouth, throat and neck. A sample of the abnormal tissue is taken and sent to a laboratory for testing. Some lesions can be removed by an oral surgeon while others may be managed medically.

- Restorative DentistryThere are a variety of implant supported dentures available, with each designed to handle a particular type of necessary restorative dentistry situation. A supported partial denture is a partial denture that uses the support and foundation of a series of dental implants to hold the denture firmly in place. Before you can have implant-supported dentures created and installed, you must first have the implants placed. Once the implants are placed, we will install one of two different kinds of implant supported fixed dentures: bar-retained or screw-retained. Bar-Retained Dentures are held in place by clips that snap into a thin metal bar that rests on top of your implants. Screw-Retained Dentures are fitted into metal attachments that sit within another metal attachment within the implant. Where regular teeth dentures may slip and slide uncomfortably when talking or eating, implant supported dentures are comfortably held in place by the implants, leaving you free to live your life.
- DenturesMillions of adults who suffer from permanent tooth loss often miss out on life's simple pleasures due to physical or emotional pain. Dentures, bridges or missing teeth often make men and women very self-conscious. Difficulty speaking because of denture slip or crack or pain and irritation are constant reminders of limitations denture wearers feel. Tooth loss has many adults feeling their appearance looks "aged" before their time.
- Dental ImplantsDental implants act as a secure anchor for artificial replacement teeth and are a great option for people missing natural teeth. Dental implants eliminate the instability of removable bridges and surface adhesives.

- Tooth ExtractionsMost wisdom tooth extractions are routinely performed with little or no discomfort in the oral and maxillofacial surgery office under local anesthesia, intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. Your surgeon will recommend the anesthetic option that is right for you.
- Bone GraftingA bone graft is the building block for a future dental implant. In some cases, the site where a tooth was extracted needs preparation for an implant. Depending upon when the tooth was extracted, a particulate bone grafting or onlay bone graft is performed. The implant may be placed on average 3-6 months after the bone graft is performed.
- OrthodonticsWe will work together to determine whether you are a candidate for corrective jaw surgery. Dr. Santin determines which corrective jaw surgical procedure is appropriate and performs the actual surgery. It is important to understand that your treatment, which will probably include orthodontics before and after surgery, may take several years to complete. Your Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and orthodontist understand that this is a long-term commitment for you and your family. They will try to realistically estimate the time required for your treatment.
