Diner beware! This was one of our favorite restaurants for years, but this visit was our last. The shrimp and crab penne, which I enjoyed in the past, tasted awful. The crab was very hard to find, with the largest piece being pea-sized. I m not even sure it was crab. The dish did not have a crab taste at all. Instead it tasted like fish, with an aftertaste that made me wonder if it was contaminated by a cleaning product. It left a bad aftertaste in my mouth for an hour afterward. If the food was not bad enough, the service was even worse. After serving our food, the waitress never asked if the food was okay, until, setting our plates to the side, we were clearly finished. Next, she said she wished I had told her that the food was not good, to which I replied that she never asked. Then she had the gall to insist that she did! Am very disappointed in the Olive Tree. Five years ago this place made great quality food and my family would eat there regularly as well as order carry-out. In the last six months this place has really gone downhill. The last time we ate inside there was a bad smell, we were freezing cold, the seafood pasta was poor quality and the kids chicken was soggy. The last two times we ordered carry-out our food was made with the wrong pasta, there was very skimpy portioning, and it was cold. We have never asked for free food, just for our food to be made correctly. One time the management was uncaring rude and treated me badly when I complained about having the wrong pasta. The manager said I must have asked for the pasta I got. Even though she checked my order and my receipt and discovered I did not order the pasta I got, I had to ask for the food to be made correctly and the manager seemd annoyed that I asked. Another time my husband received less than a lunch portion of pasta even though it was supposed to be dinner and when he drove back to the Olive Tree the replacement dish he got was very cold. The manager was so rude we decided that was the last straw. Olive Tree was my family's favorite eatery for a very long time so it has been hard to give up, but after yet another mess up and cold food today we have eaten here for the last time.

I have been going to this restaurant for at least 15 years. Tonite was my biggest disappointment ever. Ordered the same thing I always order. Broiled Seafood Platter. $24.99 ,.when I got it, my crabcake was 1/2 the size it usually is. My husband had the 2 crab cake platter and his was fine. My friend had the special crabcake and Fettuccini and Ribs $24.99 and her crab cake was big...When I complained, I was told the portion for the seafood platter had been reduced a few days before. No one told me that when I ordered it. So it was the same price and the fish and crab cake was a smaller portion. Not sure we will be back..Manager was very abrupt and told us they reduced some portions on the menu and nothing she could do about it. My argument was you could have told me that when I ordered it, and I may have changed my order. Not satisfied at all.

The outer sections of the restaurant was extremely hot and humid, we were reseated 3 times.

Our 2nd waiter was excellent even though our 1st waiter lacked people skills (a waiter can make or break the restaurant).

The food DOES have large portions, crab cakes were awesome, salad dressing was great too.

My wife and I stopped by for lunch today. The crab dip did not dissapoint very good.My wife got the crab cake with fries.I ordered the seafood fettuccine,the shrimp were very good as were the scallops done to perfection.The only improvement to this dish would be to omit the crab bits and increase the other two seafood items.The crabcake was broiled not jumbo lump,very tasty very little filler.The salad was very good fresh and crisp. The draft beer was ice cold. The service was average.

LOVE IT

If you enjoy crabcakes, this is your place. I have tried crabcakes at a lot of places in Harford County, but Olive Tree's are the best. They also have great pastas, and their breadsticks and salads are tasty and plentiful.

We've been going here for years. Definitely much better than the Olive Garden, no comparison in fact! Crab pretzel is fabulous. Large meals at a great price. We never leave hungry! Highly recommend!

Excellent Food. Drive 30 miles to eat here. Recommend the Seafood Alfredo or Fettucine Alfredo. Both are out of this world. Concept similar to Olive Garden with the salad bowl and bread. However, the food here is so much better.

I have had excellent service here, but then again I have also had some of the worst service ever. The food is always excellent but poor service can really turn you off to any restaurant no matter how good the food. I recommended this restaurant to a couple newly arriving in town, they commented they loved the food but the service was horrible. At one point on my last visit my husband called over the waiter and asked for the desert menu along with some coffee, 20 minutes later....nothing I had find the manager and complain who brought us our coffee herself. 20 minutes after receiving our coffee our waiter came back and asked if we needed anything...DUH Desert menu? At that point my husband and I left without desert. Again we love the food but management really needs to pay close attention to their servers and that the customers are being taken care of.

My family and I LOVE this restaurant! Believe it or not, they have the best crabcakes around! Their breadsticks are incredible with their italian salad. Our only complaint is that they don't always have green beans for one of their veggie choices and I am the only one in my family that likes mixed vegetables.

Thay have wonderful service and the food is incredible.

Good food at a great price. Always taking home leftovers.
