Dr. Hardy offers a variety of medical, surgical and cosmetic skin care services, including BOTOX treatments for wrinkles, NeoStrata chemical peels, sclerotherapy for leg veins, as well as a complete line of quality skin care cleansing and moisturizing products by NeoStrata and LyphaZome. BOTOX therapy is a popular treatment used to reduce the visible signs of aging. It is used to give the skin a younger and smoother appearance by temporarily softening, and even eliminating, the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles on the forehead, between our eyebrows, and around the corners of our eyes. BOTOX is a protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. A very small amount of BOTOX is injected directly into the muscles that cause wrinkles, weakening the muscles so they can no longer contract. BOTOX works to block the nerve impulses to the muscles, relaxing the muscles that form wrinkles without affecting normal facial expressions. The results of BOTOX therapy appear within three to ten days after the first treatment, and last between three to six months. A chemical peel is performed to improve the appearance of the skin on the face. It helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, even out skin tones, blemishes and sun-damaged skin. Dr. Hardy is certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and specializes in the treatment of skin cancer and a variety of conditions of the skin, hair, and nails. He has a special interest in Cosmetic and has been trained in laser surgery to treat sun-damaged skin, vascular lesions and pigmentary disorders. He performs chemical peels to diminish age spots, fine wrinkles and scars, and sclerotherapy to treat "spider veins" of the legs. Dr. Hardy also treats common skin problems such as acne, allergic dermatitis and eczema.
