Conway McLean,DPMDIRECTOR OF PODIATRIC MEDICINE AND SURGERY AT SUPERIOR FOOT AND ANKLE CENTERSDr. Conway McLean is a physician practicing foot and ankle medicine in the Upper Peninsula, having assumed the practice of Dr. Ken Tabor in 2015. Dr. McLean has been practicing foot and ankle medicine for 28 years. He has several areas of specialization, and is board certified in wound care (APWH-CMETc), open surgery (ABFAS) and also minimally invasive surgery (AMIFAS). Additionally, he achieved board certification in orthotic therapy (ABPO), both adult and pediatric. McLean utilizes some unique technologies to treat various bone and joint problems such as a musculoskeletal laser and shockwave therapy, both forms of regenerative medicine. These are also beneficial for various sports injuries. He uses a new device for the treatment of neuropathy, a common consequence of diabetes. McLean also employs radiowave technology to obtain a nearly painless, permanent solution to ingrown nails. Dr. Conways practice, Superior Foot and Ankle Centers, recently completed an expansion by adding an Escanaba office. All of the facilities and technologies available in the Marquette office are also found at the new location. McLean has lectured internationally on wound care and surgery and was a former full-time professor in the department of surgery at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He continues to write for various publications including a weekly health column in the regional daily newspaper. Dr. McLean covers a variety of topics, from nutrition to fitness, general medicine to complementary and alternative medicine. Occasionally, he even writes on foot and ankle problems. Dr. McLean has four children and 4 grandsons. He is hoping for a granddaughter at some point since his two youngest have not yet had kids. He and his wife Jo have 3 furry kids with the newest arrival being a beautiful, long-haired European German Shepherd. His hobbies include photography, music and art, with some of his artwork displayed in the office. He also continues to participate in various sports with soccer and ultimate frisbee particular favorites.
