Today I visited Healthy Hound for the first time bringing my small dog to be groomed. I picked them based on the high ratings. Unfortunately, I found the experience very disappointing. When I arrived at my 9 am appointment I was a little concerned about the noise level of barking dogs. This is not my reason for the rating. I only mention it in case someone else has a dog that would be stressed to be in a place with a lot of constant barking for hours at a time. That alone made this place not a good fit for my dog. However, I had an appointment and my dog really needed groomed so I dropped him off. As I live 31 miles away, it was my intent to get him groomed and while waiting for him I could run some errands. I was very surprised when the girl told me he would be ready by 3. That was a 6 hour wait I was not planning on. It had always taken other groomers 2 hours so I expected something similar. I explained I lived 31 miles away and that was too far to go then come back and that 6 hours didn't work for me. The front girl went and spoke to groomer and came and told me that she had another dog she was working on and could not get to him until later and that they want to get to know the dog when they first meet a new one so that was why it would take so long to finish the appointment. But she said I could make another appointment a couple of days later at 9 am and they would have him finished by noon on that day. It is my opinion they gave away my pet's appointed time and as it was a 60 mile round trip I was very disappointed. I would encourage anyone who is new to Happy Hound and considering their grooming service to ask how long it will take before making an appointment. Also, if you have a pet that would be stressed by excessive barking then you should probably visit their facility before deciding to use them to be sure your pet could handle the noise.

I needed to make a quick stop and pick up some dog supplies. I pull right in front of the doors wi the h 5 minutes to spare sings on and someone just walked out. I I get out (open sing still on) turn my back to unbuckle car seat turn back around and sings off and a girl poking out here head "sorry we are closed". I norm her I was headed to Walmart but wanted to real quick get some dog supplies. I would rather support local if posible. She informed me that the will reopen tomorrow.she also said her till stops working at 6. Just want to say why should us the customers have to go out our way to support local company's that don't care about there clientele. She would rather close a couple minutes early then stay 1 or 2 mind later and make some money. I ended up at pet works and they went out of there way or help me...so to the healthy hound "I will never shop at your store and make sure that every time one of my fellow dog owners need something I let them know about your customer service and send them the other way to pet works where they care.....Also big doggypaloze visitors. ... such a small community to do business like you do.

They have an all 'round store, with grooming, daycare, boarding and *premium* dog foods (even raw). Our dogs love to go there and look beautiful after grooming. Highly recommend the Healthy Hound!

Very Good People here at healthy Hound' They Truly Care about Our animals that we bring in for Groomimg ,Boarding , Etc..Etc.... I would Definitely Recommend Them To anyone who wants 100 Good Care Of There Pets.Sincerely,Jenny Coates
