For over fifty years, the name of Robert Bowles has been synonymous with excellence in the martial arts community. Robert Bowles Karate Academies have been recognized as a leading force in the industry, as well as one of the "Top Ten" martial arts schools in the country since 1972. Robert Bowles Karate Academies have long been known as the "School of Champions". Grand Master Bowles recently celebrated his 50th Anniversary in the martial arts. Master Bowles' has competed both Nationally & Internationally since 1962, winning the World Championships six times. His training and competition have taken him around the world, representing the United States in over sixteen countries in Europe, the Orient and South America. As a direct student of the late Grand Master R.A. Trias, Grand Master Bowles is a personally appointed Chief Instructor of the Shuri-Ryu system of Karate-Do. As founder and Director of the International Shuri-Ryu Association (www.shuri-ryu.com), Grand Master Bowles continues to teach and conduct seminars across the country.
