Caloosa Eye Center offers state of the art glaucoma care and specializes in glaucoma detection and treatment, plus treatment of all other eye diseases, led by Dr. Parna Shenoy. Dr. Shenoy is a board certified, fellowship trained glaucoma specialist and performs: * Trabeculectomy * Glaucoma shunts * Combined glaucoma and cataract surgery * SLT (the latest glaucoma laser) * No stitch cataract surgery *All glaucoma surgeries She completed her residency at George Washington University in Washington D.C. Dr. Shenoy then underwent fellowship training in glaucoma at the University of South Florida where she had the opportunity to be instructed by faculty, trained at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Institute. Glaucoma is an eye disease usually associated with damage to the optic nerve. It can occur with high or normal eye pressures. Untreated glaucoma can lead to permanent blindness. Hence it is important to see a specialist who is able to examine the optic nerve and diagnose glaucoma. Early detection and aggressive initial treatment is extremely important for preventing blindness. At Caloosa Eye Center, Dr. Shenoy offers her fellowship-trained expertise to make sure you are receiving appropriate glaucoma care.
