The Bank operates a traditional savings bank business, attracting deposit accounts from the general public and using those deposits, together with other funds, primarily to originate and invest in loans secured by single-family residential real estate. Security Federal Bank was chartered in 1963 and is still running stronger than ever today. The Bank is a state-chartered savings association bank headquartered in Elizabethton, Tennessee. All funds in a non-interest bearing transaction account are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. This covers at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
