The team does not allow you to stay with your young kid during the treatment. Doesn't explain the kid what's going to happen.Disappointing!

My son Jake (now 12) really does like to go to the dentist thanks to the great people and atmosphere at Dr. Ted's Smile Island. We had a horrible first experience with a different pediatric dentist, then came to Dr. Ted and are happy. Everyone is very kind and caring. Everything is explained and the kids are put at ease -- no surprises as to what they are going to do next. There is a play room with books and toys for the younger kids to use and a computer/game area for older kids. We used to stay for a bit after his appointment was over because he liked to play with the train set. They have tv's on the wall and ceiling and the kids get to pick out what movie or tv show they want to watch while having their teeth checked & cleaned. Afterward they can pick a prize from a special drawer. Dr. Ted takes the time to talk to the parents afterward to let them know how things are going and explains what he sees on the x-rays. We are completely satisfied with Dr. Ted and all his staff.

I have been using Dr Ted for over 15 years with my son and I had no problems. Dr Ted is thorough and tells you like he sees it. He is not one of those dentists that tries to make money off his patients. My son loves to go to the dentist because he is made to feel like he is at home. He has TV's in the ceiling and his staff always gives you the choice of what you would like to watch, if you would like to wear sun glasses so that the light won't bother your eyes and what flavor toothpaste you would like during your visit. The patient is told what is being done, or if they are to young to understand he explains it to the parents. Dr Ted even has special rooms for children who need a little more attention, like my daughter Michelle whose favorite place is not the dentist. I have to say that between Dr, Ted and his excellent staff, they make her feel at ease and after the appointment, states that it was a piece of cake. They even let you visit the prize drawer after your appt.
