      My kid was bullied and hit on head frequently by another kid at this day care and no appropriate action was taken by its management

      EXCELLENT!! My one year old has been enrolled for two months now and I couldn't have asked for a better place to send her. My intentions behind putting her in EPC was so that she could begin developing the social skills that she possibly lacked in our previous one child childcare setting. I have been AMAZED at all that they do with the children to develop their overall skills - even at only 1 year old! This definitely has given her an awesome start and an edge over any other child that does not have this fantastic setting to learn and grow in! A bit pricey but worth EVERY penny!

      Established in 1986, Educational Playcare is a provider of full-time and part-time childcare and educational programs. Based in Windsor, Conn., the firm conducts numerous programs, such as summer camp, school age, nursery school, flamingoes, parrots, chickadees and more. It also arranges activities, including Mother's Day brunch, Father's Day barbecue, winter dance recitals, spaghetti dinners and Halloween haunted house.       Business History
      Today, the importance of positive childhood experiences, starting from infancy, and their relation to future success in life is universally understood. It wasn't so back in 1986 when Founder and President, Jane Porterfield completed her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Child care options at that time were basically glorified babysitting with little in the way of an educational component. Jane wanted to be different. She wanted to provide children and families with an experience that would be both fun AND educational. When Jane considered a name for her new child care business that year, she thought about the importance of play in order for learning to take place. (She was years ahead of her time as today play based learning in universally recognized as the most developmentally correct approach.) She also knew the importance of providing a nurturing, secure, joyful, and stimulating environment. And so Educational Playcare was born.
