My daughter was hired to work for this company and travel out of state. I decided to go with her as I wasn't comfortable with her going alone. They told her to please have me go to work with her since they were understaffed. She and I worked over a month ago and have not been paid. The "supervisor" keeps offering one excuse after another (via text messages) as to why we have not been paid. We traveled 13 hours away to sit for the children of military families and WE paid all of our own expenses which was VERY EXPENSIVE! We were told in advance of sitting that we would be reimbursed for our expenses and paid in a week, no more than two weeks. It has been over a month and we have not seen a penny of our money and now we are being told we are to expect less than what we earned and paid out of pocket for reimbursable expenses. The supervisors have been paid but we have not. One excuse after another -- This is a very unprofessional company!

I have worked with Preferred Sitters. My last even was in the beginning of Nov 2017. It has been over a month now and I have not been paid. I have called and emailed the owner several times and she has not responded.She has texted me once and still has not paid me. I tried to reach out to the director in my area and she will not answer my call but did send me a very rude text. I enjoy working with children. I am a licensed nurse and currently a full time student. She has lost a very great asset to her company. My skills would have benefited her company. She DID NOT fire me! She has NOT paid me.

I have worked for this company for several years. The managers and staff ALWAYS strive to provide the BEST service and are ALWAYS given high praise from the majority of the children. If there is an issue, no matter what the size, parents are given the manager's number as well as a supervisor's number to contact immediately so that issues can be handled on the spot. A safe, secure and fun environment is ALWAYS provided! The other issues about staff not being happy about pay is an issue that should be dealt with directly by the office NOT placed on the web -- there are ALWAYS explanations. PREFERRED SITTERS ARE REQUESTED ALL OF THE TIME AND WE, THE STAFF, DO ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR ALL OF THE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES WE COME IN CONTACT WITH. If you have an issue, call/email/text one of the office staff immediately and you will be assisted promptly. SAFETY AND QUALITY ARE OUR TOP PRIORITY!!!

I did a job for this company over twenty five days ago an have still not gotten paid . My name is Carly and I an a teacher out for the summer. I was told i would receive payment in fourteen days not any longer. There were no contracts only a time sheet and that was all. I have messaged stating that if I do not receive payment within seven days I am reporting to better business bureau.

I've worked for this company on & off for a while. I have negative thoughts & positive. The negative is pay is "okay" depending on what u do & your position in the company but the problem is WHEN you get it, it may be between 4-6wks or longer be lucky if you get it any sooner & people are right they don't anwser the phones even for the ones who have the main cell/home/office numbers. They need more staff in office to help off set the checks & to do the minor things such as deal with complaints or hotels/flights. They have lost a lot of good sitters do to delaying checks which makes it hard for managers to find sitters in certain areas. The positive is you DO get paid its just a matter of when is the question. Most managers are great to work for & with. The hotels are nice & its a great experience most of the kids have a lot of fun & its great meeting new people to work with. Plus, I believe its beneficial for the parents to get a break & I'm glad to be there to help.

This company is very good to work for -- they always pay their workers and tell you up front the payment process before you work. You can choose to work when you want and the pay is better than most. They take great care of their families by providing a safe, secure, fun environment for the children while the parents attend meetings/seminars. Parents are always happy with the care given.

Wonderful Company - do not believe the negativity. I have been with them for 2 years. This compamy only hires quality workers. If you stink - you are out - (this is why they are a leader in what they do). Disgruntled employess anonymously post on here to sabatoge this company due to being "let go". Put your big girl panties on and put your name on the review, if it is legit! Everyone is paid within 30 days of the contract, UNLESS you have filled out your paperwork incorrectly (which happens frequently). This company is very busy, as they run 100s of events every month. They are rarely in the office due to travel, but there is an owner and 2 managers you can reach by cell phone at anytime (if you are not physco & they have selected you to have their mobile numbers).If the reviews were true the Gov't.(who they work for) would not continue to work with them.The company is having an attorney investigate the postings, as they may be considered slander by the "anonymous".Very suspicious.

wow very shocked that this company has any stars next to their name. I wouldn't even give this company a star but they make you atleast put one in order to submit your review.. They are very unprofessional and very last minute these retreats are scheduled in advance and should be no reason why they ask for sitters the week of the event they do not pay the babysitters or the hosts worked for them in December and it is now march and I still have not gotten paid and I am not the only one that has worked for them and not received a payment. they are very rude when you go to talk to them and that's if you can get anyone to talk to you.. I wouldn't never recommend anyone to this company.

This company specializes in gov't. contracts, so the workers are paid when the contract is paid.This could be anywhere from 2 weeks - one month OR a little longer depending on the logistics of who and how they are paid for each contract. When the company is paid, the workers are paid. EVERYONE IS TOLD THS UPFRONT, PRIOR TO ACCEPTING WORK. Unfortunately, some workers choose to ignore this and just hear the 2 week part and continue to harrass the main office relentlessly. The workers in the main office are responsible for the day to day operations of the business plus they travel all over the United States for the gov't - so they are not always at the beck & call of disgruntled workers. I do not think the gov,'t would continue to do business with them for 3 years (as they have), if they were shady. Point made!

Wish I would have seen the reviews before I took a job with this company. It's been 7 weeks and still no pay...BEWARE! I DO NOT recommend working with this company. The owner doesn't answer the phone calls...good luck...

After it being an entire month to receive a check, I was trying to be nice about it by calling in everyday to double check on it, but the staff is no help and blows you off and won't get back to you. Taking it up in a small claims court within a few days.

Very unorganized company and they do not keep their end of the deal with their workers. It is the understanding how long it takes to get the check but they are constantly changing amounts. When event time comes the main people are no support. They are lucky they have good people working for them to make them look good

I have worked with this company multiple times. They have always been up front about how much you get paid and how long it will take. It usually takes about 3-4 weeks. You have to keep in mind (especially when babysitting for a military retreat) the money has to be authorized through the military, sent to CPS, and then mailed out to you. All of the kids love coming and usually do not want to leave when the event is over. There are a lot toys provided, a great Nanny to child ratio, crafts, snacks, and games. The events are organized and there is a good process in place to insure that the authorized adults pick up the children. It does take a little while to get your check, but its good pay for the hours worked. I usually drive an hour to the event and they will put me up in the extremely nice hotel that the event is being held in. I have had an overral great experience with this company with very few little "bumps in the road" when dealing with them.
