- VaccinationDuring the summer of 2015 we remodeled a corner of the building of Yankton Livestock Market. We have been successful with this model at Mitchell Livestock & were eager to provide services in the area. We have a complete store front marketing all your animal health needs at competitive prices. Veterinarians are on staff during sales and also available by special appointment. We offer complete haul-in facilities for clients in the area, but small animal is limited to vaccinations. Equine services are also very important in the Yankton area.
- Nutritional CounselingEquine Infectious Anemia (EIA) is an infectious and potentially fatal viral disease of horses. No vaccine or treatment exists for the disease. Clinical signs of EIA include fever, weight loss, icterus (yellowing of body tissues), anemia, swelling in the limbs, and weakness. However, not all equids infected with the equine infectious anemia virus (EIAV) show signs of illness, and these animals serve as inapparent carriers.
- Comprehensive ExaminationWe have remodeled our facilities in small animal several times and have the ability to do soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, as well as the everyday wellness exams for our clients. Our large animal haul in facility is now one of the most efficient in the area. Now our only problem is, the parking lot isn't large enough to handle all of the trailers bring in the animals.
- Parasites Treatment and ControlThis deworming schedule is recommended for horses one year of age or older and in good health. For questions, please contact us.
