- Dental Examination
- X-raysIntraoral cameras are the fastest and most effective way for our doctors to show patients what is happening in their mouths and help you understand our recommended treatments. By seeing what our dentists see, our intraoral cameras are a great addition to dental x-rays and easier for our patients to relate to.
- Oral Cancer ScreeningWe already know that oral health is imperative to good overall health. Additionally, oral cancer screening is imperative to overall health. Our experienced dentists perform oral cancer screening for patients to check for signs of oral cancer in a patient’s mouth as early as possible. The earlier we find the presence of oral cancer, the faster we can treat it and you can move on from your diagnosis. At Vestal Dental, we want to find cancerous cells as quickly as possible when they are still easy to remove and long before they’ve had a chance to spread and cause other health issues in the process.
- Teeth CleaningYour children need not worry about their dental appointments. We like to begin seeing your children when they are around 1 year of age or have 8 teeth. This is what we like to call early prevention, and it is crucial to the overall health of you children’s mouth. We have a different approach to dental cleanings and check-ups for every age, and we tailor our appointments to each child.
- Fluoride Treatment
- Dental SealantsAnother of the services we provide to our smallest patients is dental sealants. So important for a healthy mouth, we use sealants to protect teeth from cavities. We place this white resin on permanent molars to make them more resistant to cavities. Another service we provide our children is digital X-Rays, and not just because kids think they’re cool. This allows us to see inside the mouth in the most accurate manner possible, ensuring we do not miss anything that might need our attention.
- FillingsTo be quite honest, white fillings are far more attractive and safer than the old amalgam fillings. Silver fillings are noticeable and unattractive, and it’s far more difficult to see under them to see if tooth decay is growing and causing other problems.
- Resin CompositeMade from many different materials, our dental professionals will take a look at your mouth and your oral health to determine which is right for you. It might be anything from a metal alloy to a ceramic, porcelain or composite resin material that works well for you. Our dental professionals at Vestal Dental Associates often use a mixture of materials in an effort to ensure that the color of your teeth is met as closely as possible. We want your crown to look as natural as possible so that no one can tell you have had dental work done.
- VeneersYour smile is one of the first features that others notice about you. That’s why imperfect teeth are such a problem for so many. Never do you want to feel as if your teeth are less than perfect, or that your mouth is not as healthy as it could be. Unfortunately, life happens and even perfect teeth begin to lose a bit of their perfect luster over time. That’s where veneers come in. Designed to cover up a myriad of imperfections and allow you to look good, feel good and smile beautifully, Vestal Dental Associates knows that veneers are the right choice for many of our patients.
- CrownsAt Vestal Dental Associates, we want our patients to feel good about their smiles. We want you to show off your teeth with pride and happiness, and we do not want you to feel that your teeth are in any way a hindrance to your overall happiness. That’s why we offer our patients the opportunity to have a dental crown installed. Not only do crowns help with the aesthetic approach to your life, but also with the overall health of your mouth.
- BridgesA dental implant can last a lifetime, unlike a dental bridge that will often last 10 years or so. Because an implant is made from titanium, and integrates directly with the jawbone, it is what is called “bio-compatible” meaning your body won’t naturally reject the implant.
- Dental BondingDirect Bonding is a process that requires us to use a composite bonding procedure. We take a substance that is best described as looking and functioning much like putty and we apply it to your teeth. This could be done to correct a number of issues, such as the following...
- Root Canal TreatmentRoot canal therapy, also known as dental endodontics, is the process of removing nerves and blood vessels from a tooth that have become problematic due to damage and/or infection. Elective root canal therapy may be required in some cases which is the process of removing a “live” nerve from a tooth. Decay, injury and gum disease can all lead to root canal infection and depending on how extensive the infection, root canal therapy may be the only way to repair your tooth.

- Oral SurgeryPlatelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a new approach to tissue regeneration and it is becoming a valuable adjunct to promote healing in many procedures in dental and oral surgery, especially in aging patients. PRP derives from the centrifugation of the patient's own blood and it contains growth factors that influence wound healing, thereby playing an important role in tissue repairing mechanisms.
- Gum Surgery
- Tooth ExtractionsOne of the most common dental procedures in the US is tooth extraction, and it’s for a variety of reasons. At Vestal Dental Associates, we often remove teeth for issues such as decay, gum disease and/or injury. However, each time a tooth is removed the underlying jawbone begins to breakdown through the process of degeneration to the bone. Preventing this becomes a priority as your oral health relies on the health and safety of these bones. Our concept is preventative measure.
- Bone GraftingThe good news is that there are several different types of bone grafting techniques available. The one that works best for you is determined based on your personal need and oral health. Our dental professionals are well-versed in this area and are sure to discuss every aspect of the procedure with you, including how it is done and which technique is best for your personal case.
- BracesWisdom teeth can counteract the effect of braces, crowns, bridges, and other dental work previously done in your mouth
- Teeth WhiteningIt is an unfortunate fact that over time teeth begin to lose the natural luster they once had. While aging and wear and tear are often to blame, staining agents such as tea, coffee, soda, red wine and other products can also contribute to your teeth losing their radiant glow. Fortunately for our patients, discolored teeth can now be returned to their natural white look through our professional teeth whitening treatments.
