Wedding And Honeymoon Planning

Wedding Planning

Wedding and honeymoon planning requires a great deal of time, effort and organizational skills. Here are 4 tips that can help pave the way for a smoother planning process for both.

Wedding Planning

  1. Interview and hire a wedding planner to take care of all of the details. At the very least, hire one to coordinate the wedding day activities so the couple can enjoy the day without being bothered with questions and decision-making.
  2. Use familiar vendors, or ones that come with recommendations. That will not guarantee a perfect event, but the odds are in one’s favor when hiring vendors that have been recommended by friends, family, or the wedding planner.
  3. Communicate and document! If ever there were a time to make sure everyone knows exactly what is expected of them, now’s the time. Not only should all vendors be kept abreast of all details that directly affect them, but and changes should be updated in writing so that there is a paper trail. Let all wishes be known, but be aware that last minute changes may not be able to be realistically implemented on time, so early planning is key.
  4. Enjoy the process. Yes it’s hectic, but the planning, details, decision-making etc. will all result in a day filled with magic and the realization of a vision. All of the steps that it took to get there should be savored – even the migraine inducing ones.

Honeymoon Planning

  1. Select the honeymoon destination together, but be willing to make compromises if needed. There are such a variety of activities available at most hotels that there is bound to be something for everyone. If possible, select the destination and leave the details to the travel agent (see number 2.)
  2. Once there is a destination in mind, hire a travel agent to help secure the best honeymoon package deals. Travel agents know exactly what to say to other hospitality personnel in order to make magic happen. Travel agents typically save newlyweds much more than their fee on packages, while freeing up valuable planning time.
  3. Be sure to make travel arrangements early enough in order to schedule any inoculations, take care of all passport issues, etc. Allow extra time for any potential glitches, too.
  4. Make sure all credit card information is up to date. Also, contact credit cards issuers to let them know you will be traveling so they do not flag your card for suspicious activity and freeze your account.

Use these quick tips to help wedding and honeymoon planning progress with ease.
