Scorpio Personality Traits

Scorpios are intense individuals who have a strong sense of determination and are prepared to give there all to their endeavors. People born with the sun in Scorpio are honest and very direct. They are often considered overly critical but when Scorpio complements someone it comes straight from their heart. These people are very independent and will seldom ask for help even if they really need it. They can often be loners and tend not to seek out too much company, but prefer a close, mutual circle of friends. Famous Scorpios include Prince Charles of England, Bill Gates and Charles Manson.

Scorpio Birthstones

The Zodiac sign of Scorpio has three stones.

Beryl – pure Beryl is colorless though this gem does occur in yellows, greens, reds, pinks and blues. This is a classic stone that was favored in ancient Greece. It is said that beryl sharpens the wearers wit and intellect and protects from injury in battle.

Opal – this stone originates from Australia and is an opaque stone that may be white or blue-green. It is believed to promote the wearer’s inner beauty, maintain faithfulness and to cure disorders of the eye. The gemstone’s mystical powers are also believed to help the wearer recall past lives.

Tourmaline – the pink tourmaline is the birthstone for Scorpios born in October. This gemstone has quite an unusual property. When it is rubbed or warmed up it attracts small pieces of paper and lint. This is because the stone is easily charged with static electricity. Unfortunately this also means that tourmalines are quick to attract dust. Tourmaline is also known as the peace stone and is said to dispel fear and calm the wearer.
