World of Warcraft Pirates' Day: The Call of Booty

Fresh Flowers delivered & smiles guaranteed. Flowers, Gift Baskets, P...
flower-shop.
Every year, on September 19, the Dread Pirate DeMeza drops anchor in Booty Bay and declares it to be Pirates' Day! On this day, you're more than likely to run into commoners dressed in pirate garb in honor of the unorthodox holiday. Talk to them, and they'll provide you with a pirate costume of your own!
Once you're suitably attired, make your way to Booty Bay (located on the southern tip of the Eastern Kingdoms), and join in the fun. You'll find crowds of pirate revelers dancing along the wooden boardwalks of Booty Bay as jaunty sea shanties play in the background. A trio of cannoneers fire their weapons recklessly into the bay, barely missing the incoming ships. You can join in the festivities, talk to Cap'n Slappy and Ol' Chumbucket about the origins of Pirates' Day, or simply have a drink and enjoy the fireworks.
Making the Most of Pirates' Day
Captain DeMaza and her crew are partying on the roof of the Booty Bay bank and auction house. Share a drink with DeMaza, and she'll make you a member of her crew for the next 12 hours (and give you a pirate costume that lasts a lot longer than the one you get from the commoners).
Pirates' Day Achievements
There aren't any quests associated with Pirates' Day, but drinking with DeMaza will net you The Captain's Booty achievement.
Origins of Pirates' Day
If you speak to Cap'n Slappy and Ol' Chumbucket, they will explain that they were the ones who originally came up with Pirates' Day, "...and once the Dread Captain heard of it... well, here we are!"
These two characters are actually named for Mark "Cap'n Slappy" Summers and John "Ol' Chumbucket" Baur, who authored the book Pirattitude (which teaches readers how to properly act like a pirate). Summers and Baur are also responsible for creating Talk Like a Pirate Day (which, by astonishing coincidence, also occurs on September 19).
Happy Pirates' Day, me hearties! Yarr!!!
