Moving your boxes from your old home onto a moving truck and from a truck you’re your new home can be grueling and labor-intensive, but packing can be the most tedious and time-consuming part of a move. Many people don’t have the time to properly pack everything for a move while also accommodating their work schedule or simply don’t stay organized enough to pack everything the right way. Others just have no interest in loading all their possessions into boxes for moving. For these people, packing movers and packing services are well worth the additional cost to the move.

Pricing on packing services and packing movers varies by company. Some companies charge an hourly rate per person, so if you have a large home that requires four people to come in and pack, you will pay for all four people. Other companies only charge for they pack. Check with the company to make sure you know what you will be paying for.

Packing movers or full service movers will send professional packers to your home in advance of your move and load all your belongings into moving boxes. Everything will be organized and labeled, so you can find everything easily after moving in. Once they finish, the movers will take everything to the truck and go from there.

The packing movers will pack everything securely in the appropriate size boxes, and fill the empty spaces in the boxes with packing paper, packing peanuts or other fill. Breakable items will be wrapped in bubble wrap or other protective wrap. By leaving your packing to professional packers, your belongings will be safer because they are packed correctly. They will also be protected by the moving company’s insurance.

Even if you are moving everything yourself but still want you packing done professionally by someone else, packing services will come in, pack and leave. All you have to do from there is load your boxes onto a truck and unload them in your new home.

If your move covers more than 100 miles and you need a long-distance moving company, you may be required to use the company’s packing service. For long moves, the company may not accept liability for anything they did not pack.
