Scheduling a bouquet delivery for a holiday or special occasion can be a ten minute project if you plan it right. Buying flower gifts is a pretty effortless way to send a quality present or remembrance, and flowers are always in good taste. One small problem with the plan is that flowers come in an enormous number of varieties, colors and styles. Where flowers are always nice to receive, one size does not fit all. If your wife loves daisies, blowing your budget on two dozen red roses may not be the best choice. When it comes to flowers, taking a little time to understand their language and style can help make you a hero in the gift giving department.

Tips for Scheduling a Bouquet Delivery

Choose the right blooms. Everyone tips their hand at one time or another about the flowers or colors they like. Armed with the right information you'll make an informed flower choice that will make a spectacular gift.

Order ahead. When flower-centric holidays roll around, you may be able to find wildflower bouquets in every mini-mart, but quality flowers may be harder to score than you think. If your honey likes baby pink roses or blush-rose mini calla lilies, get your order in early. One nice advantage to using a florist and developing a relationship with him over time is that it makes gift giving easier. He knows what you want and you get priority treatment because you're a regular customer.

Get the Details Right. The old saying about the devil being in the details was never truer than with your flower order. If you send flowers for a special occasion, getting them there on time is important. Make sure there aren't any foul-ups on your end by knowing the facts:

  • Have the correct spelling of the person's name
  • Have a sentiment for the card. This is always a nice, personal touch.
  • If it's a delivery to a person in care of a business, provide the correct business name and suite number.
  • Have the correct address handy, together with the zip code.
  • If it's a home delivery, know a time when the recipient will be there to receive the flowers.

The next time you're scheduling a bouquet delivery, take an extra couple of minutes to contemplate your purchase and assemble the facts you need to make your gesture as efficient to process as it is nice to receive.
